On Wednesday (11/15) students at participating FFVP schools have the chance to try a unique fruit – finger limes! This is a small, elongated fruit with tiny round vessels of tart juice inside. Snap them open and squeeze to make the “caviar” pop out!
The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is a federal grant program that provides a sampling of fresh fruits or vegetables in the classroom to students in grades preK-5 at qualifying schools. It’s a great way to get students excited about trying new fruits and vegetables.

It was so much fun to start the day yesterday walking to school with hundreds of young friends at Lyndale School in celebration of Winter Walk Day. Felt a little like the old days, which was oh so nice. Schools across Minneapolis Public Schools have been celebrating Winter Walk Day all this month. Learn more at https://cws.mpls.k12.mn.us/sr2s.
