When seventeen members of The Royal Music Hall Twenty-Member Variety Players fall ill, three fearless performers tackle the entire Dickens classic themselves: missed cues, surprise characters, and glorious costume chaos included. Quick changes fly, the laughs pile up, and tradition gets gleefully turned on its head. Don't miss the return of SCROOGE IN ROUGE, opening November 28!

A new season of PUPPET LAB is underway with a fresh cohort of explorers eager to develop new work for our celebrated emerging artist program. We’re excited to announce our 2025 – 2026 artist cohort: Destiny Davison, Mackenzie Langason, Jake Quatt, and Chelly Beaver!

Guided by Co-Artistic Directors Oanh Vu and Sofia Padilla, PUPPET LAB artists are given 6 months, and an artist fee, materials budget, mentoring and workshops to expand their skills and hone their craft to make their first full length show. They reach the finish line in April when their new shows are showcased in a rough and rowdy two-week festival! Learn more: openeyetheatre.org/puppet-lab-festival

Long-time Open Eye collaborator and star of SCROOGE IN ROUGE, Maren Ward, is also Artistic Director of zAmya Theater Project and co-director of their upcoming production, Living in America: The Waiting List is Full.

What is public housing? Why is public housing? And why is the waitlist full? Blending comedy with searing truth, Living in America unfolds through vignettes, original music, and a touch of variety-show flair. The result is a dynamic exploration of public housing—the struggles that stand between people and a place to call home, and the hope for an equitable system.

Presented during Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. Performances run November 13 – 21 at venues across the Twin Cities. Free and sliding scale tickets available: zamyatheater.org/the-waiting-list-is-full
