This week is our first wedding of Spring 2025 so it seemed like a good time to introduce myself again. I’m Dana Allison, Owner and Lead Planner for Keyed Up Events. We have been in business for 12 years(!) and I have lost count of how many weddings we have done. I am all about logisitics, being proactive and helping to keep our couples in their happy bubbles all day. I love to travel and am excited to head to Utah later this summer to attend the wedding of my nephew and his fiance (that we helped plan, of course!). Can’t wait to see some beautiful mountains!

When your venue doesn't have a good space for holding the wedding party before the ceremony it doesn't hurt to have a bar next door to hang out! And if that bar has a beautifully lit hallway, even better. When we have weddings at we love to send the wedding party to next door for a quick drink and some down time. By far one of the best moments from Sonia and Adam's wedding is when they had guests read letters they had written to each of them during the ceremony. It was truly touching and not a dry eye in the house. And a bonus: the letter also served as their seating chart! Everyone's table number was written on the outside of the envelope. Elle and Josh got married IRL! These two were the models for our Think Pink styled shoot a couple of years ago and this past weekend they got hitched down in NOLA. We loved how much they laughed during the whole day and how they loved working with so much that they flew her down to shoot their real wedding. You may have peeped their rooftop proposal on the post yesterday, also shot by Kaylah! Congratulations to these two and we are so happy we got to help you practice for your real day!

Our next wedding is coming up in a few weeks at where we are a preferred vendor! It’s a great time to flashback to this lovely wedding where the couple decided to put linens on the tables and it completely transformed the room! When planning a wedding in less than three weeks it’s important to partner with a team that can get the job done! Since the couple said they wanted stations we knew was the one to go to! We love how they made the right items so people could grab their foods and then keep moving. Tahnks to Ivy, Esteban and the whole team for making it happen!

Don’t want to have a traditional arch for your ceremony but still want to note the area? Our gold lantern sets are perfect to make a statement but then can be easily moved to a head table or other area. Inquire today about these or other items for your wedding or event!

"Dana Allison was such a wonderful addition to the wedding planning team. We hired her as a "Day Of" planner, but this included helpful planning information, email communications, two Zoom meetings, a ceremony rehearsal, and help with set-up/decorating. She also scheduled time to visit the venue. So much more than just the wedding day! She was excellent with communication, support, creative ideas and organization. She had 22 attendants, bride, groom and parents/grandparents to organize, and maintained a calming presence on the wedding day when weather required a change for the ceremony location. She kept the whole day moving along as planned. We definitely recommend Dana Allison for your event. She'll do a great job!!"

Welcome to our new team member Bella! She will be working on some blog posts and social media behind the scenes but you may also see her at weddings this summer! Bella is finishing up her junior year at University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) and is majoring in Marketing. She is a master at wardrobe malfunctions and loves to help with any of the furry friends joining the wedding. Welcome to KUE Bella!

With it being today it seemed like a good time to show my face! Hi 👋 I’m Dana, owner and lead planner here at Keyed Up Events. We have been in business for 12(!) years now and have seen a lot at over that time. Let me tell you my No. 1 piece of advice I tell anyone I’m chatting with who is planning a wedding:

Think about what your guests are going to take away from your wedding. It’s what they remember about it, good or bad. Was the food hot, decent and was there enough of it? How much booze did they need to pay for? Did things flow well during the day? Was there enough parking and bathrooms? And most importantly, did the wedding feel like YOUR wedding?

Things are so stressful right now. If you focus on the above things when planning your wedding hopefully it will make your planning a little easier. And if you are still stressed, get some help ☺️

We were so lucky to get to work with .floral on a few weddings last year so we wanted to feature them on today! Sydney made indoor floral meadows for both of our couples’ sweetheart tables that just shined! Who wouldn’t want to hang out at these spaces for dinner?
