Hey! I’m Dana, the owner and driving force behind Keyed Up Events! It’s been a very long time since I showed my face on here so I thought I would say hello and give you a little info about me:

>I worked at the State Fair for 16 years managing the Food Building and Grandstand, so this time of year is always a little nostalgic for me. If you are wondering if I can handle the chaos of your wedding, I would say the Fair was great training for that!

>It’s been too long since I have traveled out of the country but I have been to Eastern Europe, Ireland and Egypt! Recently the ring I got in Egypt was damaged so I hopped on here for suggestions and per usual, Instagram delivered.

>My favorite part of working out the details of the wedding is helping couples figure out their ceremony processional order and who is sitting where. I know, it seems kind of boring but there is actually a lot of thought that needs to go into those decisions, particularly if there are challenging family dynamics.

We have very limited 2024 availability left but are booking for 2025 and beyond so send us a message, we would love to help!

The courtyard at the Van Dusen is definitley a showpiece of the venue. It’s the perfect place for a magical ceremony but also a first dance if the weather is right for it. PSA: Your vendors are professional adults. We all understand that not everyone who inquiries with us is going to hire us. But we do appreciate, especially if we have taken the time to do a consultation with you and send a proposal, some kind of follow up to let us know. The above slides give you some ideas. Sometimes we do events besides weddings! A year ago we were helping Sarah and Sarah celebrate their 10th anniversary with a fun party at . We loved helping them plan a great experience for their guests where they got to experience the museum at the fullest!

Don’t worry, we aren’t getting into the furniture game but we do now have great chairs to rent out for the Hora dance! We have some amazing Jewish weddings coming up this year and it was always a challenge to find chairs that are sturdy, but light enough to lift. We can assure you that these ones meet the criteria, plus they have arms so no one will fall off the side! These babies are going out this weekend but get in touch if you have a need coming up!

These multi-functional holders that sit on the floor are a unique addition to your wedding. You can put them down the aisle or use them to decorate special areas like a sweetheart table. I was working on timelines today for our May and June weddings. It never fails to amaze me just how many details go into a timeline. I love using @timelinegenius because it builds such a good base for the day, but still points out all of the tiny things we need to remember and think about. 📋 If you ever wonder how it is that our weddings can run so seamlessly, it’s because we talk about ALL the details ahead of time. 🚨 H U G E N E W S! 🚨 We’ve been pretty quiet about this over the last few months, but are very excited to announce that we have overhauled our branding and have an AMAZING new website that is live! 🙌🏻 We will be adding a huge line of rentals over the next few months, that our planning clients have use of at no extra cost. 🕯 There is no way we would have been able to do all of this ourselves, which is why we enlisted the services of Katie with Queenikathleeni Designs for it all. Katie is not only super talented, but she is also a former client, so who better to have an eye for what engaged couples would be looking for in a wedding planner. This wedding was so special and had so much joy in it. You can see the love and happiness shining through from this video from Legacy Pictures. If you are wondering why having a videographer is so important, it's because of all these special moments and words and sounds that can only by captured on video. Not everyone can remember what was said during the ceremony. Friends and family aren't part of the First Look. Emotions and a catch in a voice. All of these can be cherished by all when you have video. And if your videographer has a drone..well that's just a great bonus! Having a live artist at a wedding was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and a first for me. This artist did work for the bride’s parents many years ago and they flew her in from Alabama just to paint their daughter’s wedding. It was a surprise for the couple and a great treat for the guests to watch all night! #weddingartist

Our #CandyBar service is in full force today including favorites of the couple, like #sourpatchkids and #hersheykisses We bring the candy, containers, scoops, tongs and cups, set up and take it down for you!

Grandma Bonnie is Our Hero!

If we could have adopted Grandma Bonnie, we would have. This 87-year-old grandmother of the groom was a firecracker on the dance floor! The mother of groom said that Bonnie's mother, who was also 87 at the time, danced at the groom's parents wedding and was the last one to leave the dance floor What a great night and a special memory for Natalie and Cameron to have of his Grandma Bonnie! #BecomingtheBraunds
