Every detail of August Riviera was designed to be sustainable, interactive, and memorable 🌿. Our Event Design & Sustainability Manager, Annie, worked with the Chowgirls chefs to bring that vision to life:

Spritz Bar 🍹 Guests chose their base, bubbles, and garnishes from a vintage bar cart

Toast Station 🍞 Three vacation-inspired toasts (beach, city, countryside) with toppings for guests to finish their own creations

Earlier this week, our Chowfolk and Friends of the Mississippi River helped to make the city a bit cleaner!

We met at the Como Woodland Outdoor Classroom, then headed out to stencil storm drains and pick up trash to keep the drains clean. We learned about pollutants and their effects on natural waterways and habitats in the metro, and how keeping the drains clear helps our ecosystems.

We’re so excited for Owamni - By The Sioux Chef to be our new “roommates” at the Guthrie Theater! Congrats, Chef Sean Sherman!

We’re thrilled to announce that the James Beard Award-winning restaurant Owamni will relocate to the Guthrie’s restaurant space in spring 2026. In this exciting new partnership with acclaimed Chef Sean Sherman (The Sioux Chef) and North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems (NĀTIFSorg), we will work together to create a vibrant destination for art, culture and community along the Mississippi riverfront.

We’ll share more details in the coming months. For now, join us in welcoming Owamni - By The Sioux Chef to the Guthrie!
