Hey Everyone! I had an amazing time during my cooking demonstration at the Q&A session for The Lion King cast members. All of the guests, including the cast members, really loved the Chicken Alfredo! Who is Shef Shaun?

Shef Shaun is a native of Cleveland, OH who began his culinary journey at the age of 6 years old. He was blessed to learn how to cook from both of his grandmothers, both of whom passed away in 2023.

They both left him with life lessons on everything surrounding the kitchen, entertainment and home that he still uses today.

At the age of 18, Shaun moved to New Jersey, where he was blessed to finish school and begin a career in marketing and public relations under Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons. He worked with them for over 10 years. He started as an intern and grew into the marketing director for their Phat Fashions Kids clothing brands, Phat Farm Boys and Baby Phat Girlz. Through that experience, he was very well educated on branding, messaging, community engagement and philanthropy. The common thread with every special event and occasion was great food! Shortly after leaving the Simmons' empire, he worked to create his own brand as a personal chef in NYC, which was relaunched in Charlotte.

Right before moving to Charlotte in Spring 2022, Shef Shaun self-published his first cookbook, "Soul in the Citi", which is currently available on Amazon. As a cookbook author, he has been able to form a close relationship with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library Foundation, where he conducts cooking demonstrations at various locations. In 2023, Shaun competed in the Favorite Chef competition presented by Carla Hall where he was able to achieve 5th place in our region. This year, he produced a 4-week program in April with the Mint Hill Library which involved cooking demos and education on kitchen safety, budgeting/shopping and proper food storage. Shaun recently left his sous chef position at Mimosa Grill uptown under the guidance of celebrity & executive chef, Kaley Laird to focus on his personal chef career. Shaun's 4 pillars for success are: integrity, authenticity, passion, & value.

As a personal chef and foodie, I love to find local vendors in North Carolina to use for my clients and family. I just found Midas Spring Water earlier this week and I absolutely LOVE this water! They are located right here in Huntersville!
