One week ago, married Garrett at in front of the closest family and friends!
When Arielle and I first met, she emphasized how important her details and colors were to her, and while I knew she was serious about how much the details mattered, I was still blown away!
The incredible perfectly matching her embroidered floral veil, her ever so twirly dress, down to the purple cover on the Polaroid camera she and her officiant/MOH used to take snapshots of the day…it couldn’t have been more perfect.

When I tell you I have been in bridal FOREVER, I mean… for nearly 20 years!! 🤗
Here is some of my… gosh… 3rd collection, that I custom made (along with a small team!) and dyed for brides with ALL organic materials. 🌱
I used to do ALLOT more dyeing when I had a basement dye studio on 31rst street back when I was “Janay A Handmade, and then “Janay A Eco Bridal”.
Have you been with me since those days???
Now, I’ve been in this location in Mission for about 20 years!
(I do take on the very, very occasional dye project that I lovingly do from my kitchen above the shop! 🧑🍳 😂)
Over the years I have evolved in my offerings, & stayed in bridal, there is just something about it I LOVE..💕
Now, we have 500 DESIGNER Gowns, all available off-the-rack, ALL for under $2k. 🧚🏽♂️
I still stand by that these are MUCH MORE eco friendly than any other bridal shop,
Because: Most have been “rescued” from my vast network of other bridal stores, so we’re already IN THE US! 🇺🇸
(They are still brand NEW, but those stores thought they weren’t a good for tot them…
prolly because they are more UNIQUE than the “standard basic B” dresses.)
Also, how we run the business is more sustainable~ 🌱 🌍
I live about the shop, Garden our back, have an electric car, compost and recycle everything…. Just for a small example!
I’ve leaned SO much along the way…
and our brides get to enjoy that wealth of experience as I assist them in connecting to their DREAMY dress! ✨👗✨
You may notice that we won’t be able to alter every dress that we connect a bride to.
The business is rapidly growing, while my small team of seamstresses (currently 2!) and workspace remains the same.
So, we will be referring to some of our favorite other sewers, to help you out!

Janay at High Vibe Bride put together this romantic, bohemian look.
With an absolutely stunning gown that compliments Caitlyn so perfectly, and the floral veil details that soften the look in the best of ways.
Dan at “Dan Dan the Tailor Man” chose classic colors in a clever and interesting way.
Those darker green hues highlight the epic scenery of Timber’s Edge while the orange accents bring a pop of color and bring out Cameron’s features so well.
And last but not least is all of the sparkle!
Katherine with Anne-Marie Bridal created such delicate pieces that are still bold enough to stand out with all of the beautiful things happening in these photos!

🤩 Shocker alert: We don’t have WHITE dresses!
(Which can have a harsh silvery undertone)
Gowns look RICHER & in shades “off-white” and warmer, like champagnes.

I notice that ivory dresses ALWAYS look more WHITE in wedding pics than they do in real life…
While Champagne & N**e Tones tend to look more IVORY in wedding pics!
Definitely more so if you go with a “light and bright” photo style, like the ahhhmazing did here.

Our shop (re) Remodel! We are always UP-LEVELING, internally & externally!🪷 When I SPRANG into sharing of-the rack gowns during Cvid, I used metal racks… A few years later, they started to sag in the middle from all the dresses weight 😅 I desired a more INTENTIONAL shop design… Focusing more on intimacy her curating a way to keep our collections of dresses organized & beautifully displayed! In comes my beloved, Tim… he helped 3D model our design, & plan it for several phases! I LOVE our two new 8’ racks! These are supported from the ceiling & have hidden lighting! Last remodel we we added a 12’ one, learned allot from that, and did the new ones slightly better! No we can (safely) hang even MORE amazing DRESSES for you! ✨👗✨ This share is a bit late, as we finished the project more than a week ago! I have been enjoying seeing brides this week & processing what a big endeavor it was!!! 🤗 I am beyond grateful for my team who supported us through this, with countless hours spend moving and (re)reorganizing gowns, painting, & cleaning!🥰 Thank you, Mackenzie, Christine, and Britt! Long trains don’t have to be “fussy”! Make them EASY with these tips: #1: Remove the Train linings ! (if not already sheer, like this beautiful floral train!) Less layers makes it more lightweight, and easy to lay out! #2. Bustle Magic 🪄 We can bustle up ANY gowns’s train! & have experienced bridal seamstresses ON STAFF to ensure your train is reliable. We always prefer a French Bustle for stronger multi-point heavier fabrics! #3 Still too long? We can happily shorten OR totally remove any goens train!

Janay A Eco Bridal creates mindful Custom Wedding Gowns. The gown of your dreams will be brought to life with our unique co-creation process, from initial sketch to final fitting.
We also specializes in re-creating heirloom wedding gowns, a truly special way to honor your family, and provide Specialty Bridal Alterations.
Since 2005, designer Janay has been working with brides from her studio in Kansas City. A very special small team of local seamstresses bring your creative gown vision to life with passion and skill.
With our use luxurious eco-friendly materials, we do what we can to "be the change" that we want to see in the world.
We love all designs that express the wearer’s individuality. Clean, sculptural lines and great fabrics used thoughtfully are favorites.
Also lover of fun details like surprise low backs, colored tulle under dresses, fun textures, and pockets!

Surprise details (a low back here, a peekaboo print there) spark curiosity and allude to antique refinement. Natural fabrics flow, pockets speak to functionality, and removable under-skirts conjure careless hours dancing in the warm night.
