I have my film camera back and I am beyond excited. A fresh perspective. Something softer perhaps.
I am looking for three muses to go slow, yet keep my creative energy flowing.

Looking for two women and I would enjoy working with one man. Zero $0 session fee and we will work out the details of your images and investment custom order...

If each of you shared with one friend, there is a possibility someone, a woman or man - practicing living wildly alive, & radical self acceptance, sensuality, and awakenness....would be interested in creating with me. Thank you for sharing.

Currently - I am curious to create in some uncommon spaces...I have them in mind; be in touch.

Halation ( not used in this image )

Article by: Written By Laura Parkin

Alright, let's talk about halation - the glowy haze that bright objects sometimes give off in photos and films. You might think it's a quirky bit of camera work, a lens problem… but it's actually a totally intentional effect that's become super popular in recent years. It’s gives a reminiscing feeling of film photography and old lenses before they became super-sharp (and a bit eye-hurty for me!)

Halation can create a really cool vibe - it's dreamy, atmospheric, and just a little bit eerie. It's perfect for cinematic vibes and giving the most beautiful atmosphere in your images, where you want to give your audience a sense of being in a different world.

And you know what the easiest way to get this effect is? With diffusion filters. These filters scatter the light before it hits the film or sensor, creating an even softer, hazier look. Plus, they can help smooth out skin tones and make your portraits look extra flattering.

The best part is that these filters come in all different strengths and styles. You can go for a subtle dreamy effect or crank it up to create an otherworldly vibe that'll make your audience feel like they're floating in a cloud.

Before spending out on a filter (they usually range from £50-£150) I’d advise trying a couple of free/cheap ways to create this effect first and see if you get on with it. First- breathe on your lens and wait a few seconds until you get the required dissipation. Another way is to your a piece of clear, thin plastic (a bag/cellophane) but this also creates a slight blur. Lastly get a cheap UV filter, spray a little hairspray in the air and then waft the filter through it

An intentional conversation on your emotional landscape..the physical landscape feels safe to show up and move in ways that honor & celebrate YOU.
AND ALL versions of you are worthy and all versions of you are good, and whole. You are not a compartmentalized woman. I see you.

When I first searched , there was one photographer
that came across my feed. Jenna Nord with First Embrace Photography. I fell to my
knees at 37 weeks pregnant in awe of her intense, raw, magical work. I knew Jenna
would be at my home birth. From my first conversation with Jenna, she kept validating
MY birth, MY space, MY vision for what I expected and dreamed of happening as I transitioned into motherhood for the first time. When my first home birth didn’t go as
planned, my birth photos from Jenna validated my journey and my story of bringing my daughter into this world. Jenna’s presentation of our birth story sent a flood of water down my cheeks that ultimately left me speechless but with the opportunity to hold space for my birth story forever.
Jenna has been with me on my mothering journey for three years now, as she just photographed the birth of my second baby, a boy, in our home last year. After a successful homebirth, it was Jenna who sat with me in silence, crying softly and exclaiming, “you just did that.” I will never forget her beautiful soul congratulating me for
completing a task that she knew I worked so hard for. She lent me strength during
contractions, played with my daughter throughout labor, and soothed my husband
during transition. Jenna offered these unasked services while still capturing our birth
story behind her lens. Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
I know Jenna is the absolute best photographer and uncontested birth
photographer in Missoula, but it’s an incredibly special bonus to have a progressive,
passionate, and poignant woman to have in my life and to have in our city, our state, and our world. Jenna is impassioned by women, and the journey they take to bring life into the world. Her attention to detail is unmatched in the birth space and her ability to give tangible memories to clients is incalculable. Jenna’s talent is completely parallel to
her heart and that makes her irreplaceable in so many different ways. Thankful, grateful, forever indebted for Jenna and what she has brought and continues to bring to me and
my family’s life.

One Lucky Momma,
Megan Branz
