After 8 hours at 250, then resting in the oven at the lowest setting all day here is the Pastrami! It turned out amazing. Having Pastrami sandwiches and rooting on ISU tonight!! Go State!!

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, join us at Who Channel 13 RVTV to support Mitchellville and enjoy Smoked and Sassy BBQ's exceptional BBQ offerings. Our Mitchellville Library fundraiser will feature a range of BBQ delights, including hotdogs, cheeseburgers, smoked turkey sandwiches, and chopped brisket sandwiches, all served as combo meals with a bag of chips, cookie, and water. Our signature smoked and sassy pork belly cinnamon rolls will also be available.

Yesterday at the Iowa State Fair Cookoff contest with Iowa Farm Bureau was incredible! Cooper and I had a great time socializing with friends and making new acquaintances. My chicken dish won first place and you can find the recipe in the Farm Bureau Spokesman. Cooper's Pork Belly Cinnamon Rolls were a resounding success and impressed Governor Reynolds and Senator Ernst!

Cooper is competing in the youth pork division and I am competing in the adult chicken division. We are on the Grand Concourse in front of the cheese curd food stand in front of the Varied Industries Building.

It's time to bring on the heat! I'm stoked to announce that I'll be competing in the Iowa Farm Bureau Cookout Contest at the Iowa State Fair on August 13, 2024. I'll be showcasing my chicken cooking skills in the adult class, alongside Cooper who will be competing in the youth pork class. We're ready to bring home the win!

The cooking process has been awe-inspiring, to say the least. In a mere hour and a half, we'll embark on the next chapter of this gastronomic journey: preparing tender, flavorful pork ribs that will leave you craving more!
