Located in historic midtown Mobile, Alabama, JJP performed its first show in 1947 and has not ceased since. JJP will continue its mission by offering educational arts opportunities on stage and off thereby continuing to improve the arts experience in Mobile, in Southwest Alabama, and along the Gulf Coast. Hello from the afterlife all Ghosts and Ghouls! 👻Joe Jefferson Playhouse is excited to announce our first ever Halloween Cabaret! Join us Friday, October 18th for this one-night-only performance of some of your favorite Halloween themed Broadway songs!👩‍🎤🧑‍🎤

We will have a costume contest at the event and the winner will be announced during intermission! 🧟 🧛‍♂️ Wear your best costume for a chance to win season tickets for the rest of the 2024-2025 season. This will be a night of spook-tacular fun that you don’t want to miss!💀🕸🕷

HEAR YE HEAR YE!! Today is Cinderella's Royal Ball performance! We will have Sweet Cream ice cream truck at JJP beginning at 12pm today and they will be there until right before show time at 2pm. At intermission there will be a special "Cinderella's Pumpkin Brew" (made with sherbet and sprite) and after the show everyone will be able to get pictures with the cast of the show with our photographer JHopper Photography! When the television program, starring Julie Andrews as Cinderella, first aired in 1957, it was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium at that time. Since then, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella has continued to charm audiences in productions on stage and on television. Based upon the classic fairy tale, and particularly the French version Cendrillon ou la Petite Pantoffle de Verre, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s adaptation brings new life to the story of a young woman forced into servitude who dreams of – and achieves – a better life.
