“The former warehouse and antique store boasted 30,000 square feet inside. Sarah Clark, who bought the building to be a part of the Crown Hall franchise, voiced plans to add a courtyard to the outside as well. The building will be called ‘Crown on St. Louis.’

“It’s a location for people who really want to have the larger groups because we just kind of have a shortage of those in Mobile,” Clark said.

Clark said she hopes to accommodate 2,500 to 3,000 people at once. The event space will be used for a number of events, like weddings, concerts, parties, etc.

With the Civic Center being out of the picture in the upcoming Mardi Gras season, Clark remained optimistic about her new property on the corner of St. Louis and North Washington.

“They can unload from their floats directly into the space. They have outside entertaining space and inside entertaining space,” Clark said.”

The skies of Downtown Mobile will be filled with beads, moon pies and more as the 68 Ventures Bowl presents the Greer’s Markets and This is Alabama Mardi Gras Parade with floats from 20 mystic societies on Sunday, Dec. 22. This event is free and open to the public. Starts at 5:30 p.m.
