As a young child, I enjoyed planning my birthday parties. I loved to pick out the colors of crinkled crepe paper streamers and coordinating balloons that would be used for decorations, selecting the invitations and creating the menu. To this day, a childhood friend reminds me of the Shirley Temples I served at one of my birthday parties!
Fast forward to my college years. Once settled into my first apartment, I hosted Sunday Brunch for my friends. Everything had to coordinate and match with the menu. I would rather spend hours at a Home Décor store than shopping for shoes or the latest fashion. I dreamed of being Martha Stewart one day (my close friends even call me Martha).
Post college, I began a career in the special events industry and twenty years later I still love what I do! My passion lies within creating experiences for people so that they can laugh, dance, and create memories with loved ones. Life can be tough, this world is tough, so let’s celebrate and enjoy life, if even for a day.
Four years ago, my dream came true of opening an event venue, The Pillars. I love this old building and can just imagine the parties and events that have taken place over the past 100 + years. If these walls could talk! Our philosophy at The Pillars is for you to enjoy your event with your guests, while we handle the details. We are Southern Hospitality at its finest!
