I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT when I was asked to help organize and plan an historic event for the Freedom Road and Community Renewal Society of Chicago.

I was able to organize a tour & plan a sit down Low-country Gullah Geechee dinner for a group of 200 people to travel and experience Charleston, SC.

In looking back over my wins I’m continuing to learn that my PASSION has been key to my growth in business! If you’re not passionate – if you don’t absolutely love what you do – you’ll eventually burn out.

The moral of the story is, planning an event can be a frustrating experience.

But having someone take care of your event who is passionate about what they do, really is the most important trait they can can have. I will continue to ride the wave of having a deep passion for creating memorable events. Let’s make magic together ✨

How did get started?

My name is Brandy Toussaint and I’m the owner & founder of The Upscale Experience. I started this business in February of 2021 so we are a year old this month! 🎉

I started my business with my beloved sister in law in mind (RIP 🕊) She was a event decor designer & caterer. Because of my background in business management, she would always encourage me to join her in business by being a wedding/event planner. For years I hesitated. I wasn’t even sure how to get started doing event planning, but because she believed in me she helped me with my business plan & also creating a proposal for clients.

At the top of 2021 I decided to join her in business to collaborate on some weddings/events she had coming up in 2021. I booked my first client in February of 2021 and my sister in love passed just one month after. 😔

The Upscale Experience was born out of a love & passion that my sister in law created in me. What I love most about doing this is helping others create memorable events that will be talked about for a lifetime. ♥️

I hate to break it to you sis but honestly YOU WILL NEED MORE!

Don’t get me wrong; the internet & all those things are great but hiring a wedding planner/coordinator will allow someone to step in if things aren’t getting done on time or the way the couple wants.

You need someone who is going to make sure the food is being served on time, the right songs are played during the ceremony recessional & someone who will make sure to keep track of hundreds of tiny details.
