Today is Giving Day! Here is a note from our director about the program:
This series is so rich in history and I really love the opportunity to bring the arts to my rural community here. I was the student worker for SFAS for 2 years before graduating and I am so grateful for the chances this program has given me.
Giving Day is today and I am asking you to consider supporting me and the Smith Fine Arts Series by donating. Last giving day was our best year ever raising over $11,000. This year, we have the hefty goal of raising $15,000. As you know, I like to be the best, so please help me beat my former self!
Howl from your heart with me and support the Smith Fine Arts Series at https://givingday.wou.edu/campaigns/smith-fine-arts-series

Celebrating Our 43rd Season

Join us on a sensory journey as Smith Fine Arts Series presents top musicians from across the country and around the globe. Get ready to tap your toes to bluegrass like you’ve never heard it before. Groove on soaring vocals from India and high-energy Mexican rhythms. Marvel as a blazing Irish reel picks up speed, and relax into a haunting Swedish ballad played on an ancient instrument. Catch your breath on the soulful sounds of the Detroit blues—goosebumps guaranteed. Close your eyes and listen as we carry you away to places both known and new to you.

Smith Fine Arts Series is on a mission, not only to present quality performances for our wider community, but also to provide free opportunities for students throughout the season. From special performances and demonstrations for elementary and secondary students to informal discussions and workshops for university students and the public, SFAS fosters an appreciation for the performing arts by providing direct access to the world-class artists who perform here.

Educational outreach is an important part of every SFAS season. During 2018-19, students from 10 local schools and universities visited campus to participate in activities with our visiting artists.
