this was my first wedding at Heartland Farms - before seeing their property I’d already fallen in love with the name! (heartland being one of my forever favorite shows!!) anyways…

the people are so so sweet! the house is adorable, big open spaces, a neighboring horse farm in the background - it’s just beautiful! we were able to shoot Jessica & Jackson’s engagements here in the spring & then their wedding this fall! and it wasn’t until i was editing the ceremony portion of their day that i finally noticed what was in the background. you see the wooden cross, the alter at which they were married - but standing behind them were three tall pine trees. And i couldn’t help but picture Jesus’ final moments of life hanging on the cross with the two thieves hanging next to him. and it made me emotional. Immediately i thought of a verse that is quoted time & time again at so many weddings - Ephesians 5:25 “husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church & gave himself up for her.” I love this image & i love finding things like this that fuel a greater fire within me to worship. and if sharing this with you today does the very same thing then it will all have been worth it. 🫶🏻
