A few days ago my life came full circle when I had the pleasure of hosting a lunch for the Maine Downtown Center and the Monson Collaborative. Five years ago, when I moved to Maine, I sat on a panel at the Skowhegan Library with many of these wonderful people talking about how I wanted to open a cafe in Monson. To be able to feed them and talk about my love for this community and all of the amazing new businesses in town was truly a blessing. I can't wait to see what kind of magic we can create in the next five years!

MDC Advisory Council traveled to Monson, one of our Maine Downtown Affiliate programs, this week. What a wonderful meeting, lunch and walking tour with the Monson Collaborative. We learned and shared and laughed. Thanks for the great visit.

If you're coming to town for weekend go check out this brand new coffee business in Abbot called The Mobile Mug and grab one of our hand rolled bagels and their amazing wood fire roasted !

I love being able to work with new local businesses and McKenzie and her partner are all about quality and sustainability so go support them!

I still get all the feels when I look at this picture... My badass friend and fellow entrepreneur took on the 100-mile wilderness solo and our bagels were able to keep her nourished during her hike. If you're hiking the AT and stop through Monson, check out Jeneve's new business, Rest Day Sauna! It's absolutely magical and sauna has changed my life for the better!

I'm so excited to be working with Rose’s Sourdough . This amazing baker and mama makes everything from scratch and you can tell she puts so much love into everything she makes. We're very grateful to have makers like her who are passionate about real food and supporting local! If you have local products you'd like to sell at our cafe, please reach out, we'd love to support you!!! BIG NEWS! We're going to start doing take-out dinners beginning tomorrow! Dinners are available Monday - Friday at $17 per plate and you can pick up at 23 Pleasant Street from 5:30pm- 8:30pm. We will have vegetarian options for each night and will try to work with any dietary restrictions. Please text/dm or call to place your order by 12:30pm. (messaging preferred 😊)

For the past three days, we cooked for some amazingly talented artists and wonderful humans on Borestone Mountain, making farm-to-table breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and amazing memories. Thank you to Monson Arts and Maine Audubon for making us a part of this magical experience. So grateful to be living this life.

We were not expecting to sell out today, but we're out of bread and bagels with only a few muffins and brownies left on the bakery rack.

We're closing early today so Pat Hefferan can enjoy his Father's Day by prepping for a catering event. 😅

Many people were wondering why we went back to pre-orders... well it was so we could build you a seating area! This has been my dream for so many years. I'm so excited for the community to have a funky space to enjoy lake life with real food, delicious coffee, and amazing people. We're opening with new hours starting Thursday, June 6th, 2024, from 8am-3pm. We will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the time being. we'll be closing for an hour to enjoy the eclipse with our kids, but we'll open back up at 3:30pm today with mac n cheese, tomato bisque, grilled ham + cheese on focaccia, and salad, along with anything left in our bakery case! We'll also be open tomorrow from 8am-3pm so come grab food while you wait out the traffic.

alright party people... NEW ECLIPSE HOURS!

Friday - Tuesday 8am-3pm.
We're running a limited menu this weekend for the eclipse and will not be doing any more pre-orders.

**Breakfast sandwiches, focaccia, and sourdough loaves will be available until we run out.

Bagels : Plain, everything, cinnamon raisin. Available with house cream cheese or honey sea salt butter.

From the bakery: Classic cinnamon buns, blueberry & strawberry muffins, chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, and brownies.

Lunch: Tomato bean bisque, hummus plate, salad, and MAC N CHEESE.

As always we'll have Maine roasted coffee, Maine cider, and ganache hot chocolate. We'll also have soda, bottled water, and iced tea available.

Looking forward to seeing everyone once the snow stops

Been working on expanding our menu and we are now offering a larger selection of savory buns, with my absolute favorite being the "sausage and gravy." Made with Turning Page Farm sausage, Nightengale dairy, and lots of pepper, this bun is the ultimate comfort food! It's especially close to my heart because I get to showcase farmer Joy's amazing hard work and beautiful sausage. Ever since I moved here Joy has been an advocate, mentor, and dear friend to me. I used to travel hours outside of cities for the "best" restaurants in search of farmers of her quality and caliber, and now they're my neighbors! If you're in town on the weekend, make sure to visit Joy and Tim at their farm-to-table brewery right down the road where you can hang out with their goats while enjoying some of Maine's best craft beer!

We are open today, however, we don't encourage anyone to travel in stormy conditions. That being said if you are in the area and can get to safely, I would like to extend my gratitude by offering a free meal and hot drink to any snow plowers, emergency workers, cmp workers, and anyone else who is working hard today so most of us can cozy up with our family. I will do this for every snowstorm so please let any friends or family know! Thank you so much for keeping up and running and please stay safe!
