We had a proud moment at the Automobilia Collectors Expo when a very special sale was made. One lucky customer managed to get their hands on a rare Hot Wheels model – the Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta. But what makes this sale even more remarkable? The customer owns the actual car that this Hot Wheels model was based on! How amazing is that?

The Ferrari 166 MM Barchetta is an icon in automotive history. Designed for long-distance competition, this legendary model took its name from the 1000 Miglia, one of the most famous road races in the world – a race where the 166 MM would go on to secure multiple victories. Built by Touring using the revolutionary “Superlight” method, the 166 MM boasted a lightweight, dynamic structure while maintaining impressive stiffness. It was a perfect blend of engineering and artistry, with a modified engine designed to run on commercially available fuel.

We’re thrilled to have connected this passionate collector with a piece of automotive history that holds such personal significance. It’s moments like these that make what we do so rewarding!
