Happy Thursday!

This is my final menu of 2024 ... hard to believe that another year has flown by. At Soup(er), we continue to feed an ever-growing number of families each week. I know that it can be challenging to get your order in, but know that I am working hard in the kitchen to feed as many of you as I can ... last week we made enough soup to get all 11 families off the waitlist, in the end we fed nearly 70 families!

I'm honored that you allow me into your homes to cook dinner for you and your families on Tuesday evenings. And if you are craving my soups over the winter break, here's a little tip .... MPH Brewing is serving my turkey chili as their winter food special. Feel free to pop in and enjoy a warm bowl with a great local beer (my favorite is Budmo). I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and wish you a happy and healthy New Year!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17th is MUSHROOM BEEF BARLEY SOUP with ITALIAN SUPERMARKET BREAD. This flavorful soup is filled with mushrooms, barley and slow cooked beef that will melt in your mouth; it's pure comfort food in a bowl!

The soup begins with cooking a little bit of bacon in the pot ... just enough to start the soup off right . Once the bacon is crispy, the beef is added and seared to enhance its flavor. Next, carrots, onions, celery, garlic and mushrooms are added.

Once softened, fresh thyme, smoked paprika, and reconstituted dried mushrooms are added along with homemade chicken stock, balsamic vinegar and Worcestershire sauce and brought to a boil. The soup simmers until the meat is fork tender and delicious. Pearled barley is added towards the end of cooking to add a chewy bite and it's garnished with fresh parsley.

The bread companion this week is my ITALIAN SUPERMARKET BREAD. Just like the name says ... it's a fresh loaf of bread that tastes like the loaves of Italian bread you used to be able to pick up from the supermarket. It has a crispy exterior with a nice chewy bite and is coated in sesame seeds. It is simple, but tastes anything but.

On the menu for dessert are ANDES MINT COOKIES - back by popular demand! If you are a fan of mint and chocolate, these cookies are for you! They are soft, chewy and loaded with Andes Mints. ~ Jenny from Jenny Sue Delights

Happy Thursday!

On the menu for TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10th is THAI CHICKEN RAMEN SOUP with MULTI-SEED BREAD. My Thai Chicken Ramen Soup is filled with fresh veggies, tasty bites of chicken and slurp-worthy ramen noodles. It features a creamy and flavorful broth that has a little spicy kick, which makes it the perfect soup to enjoy on a cold winter evening!

The soup begins by sautéing the chicken, sliced mushrooms, red peppers, fresh ginger and garlic in olive oil. Once the veggies are softened, homemade chicken stock, coconut milk, soy sauce, fish sauce, honey, a little red curry paste and sunflower butter are added. The sunflower butter adds the creaminess and nutty flavor that peanut butter would add, but allows those with nut-allergies to still enjoy the soup.

Once the soup comes to a boil, fresh lime juice, spinach, toasted sesame oil and cilantro finish off the soup. The ramen noodles will be delivered separately, you add them when you heat up your dinner. This prevents the ramen from soaking up all your tasty broth and becoming mushy.

My bread companion this week is my MULTI-SEED BREAD. This delicious bread is dark, slightly sweet and has a satisfying crunch from the multi-seed topping. Not only is it fantastic fresh from the oven, if you can save some for breakfast it makes the best toast!!

On the menu for dessert this week are MAPLE BROWN SUGAR COOKIES. With big flavor, crisp edges and chewy centers, these maple brown sugar cookies are delicious! These are unbelievably chewy and soft in the center, loaded with brown sugar, filled with maple syrup and topped with a maple icing. They are absolutely one of my favorite cookies! - Jenny from Jenny Sue Delights

Hello on a Wednesday :-)

I don't want to take too much of your time on this busy day of Thanksgiving prep, but I figured sending out the menu and ordering link would be a good idea. So have a quick read and get your orders in quickly for next Tuesday, I promise you won't want to miss out!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3rd is SPANISH CHICKEN RICE SOUP and ITALIAN HERB BREAD. My Spanish chicken rice soup is loaded with chicken, peppery chorizo, and flavorful rice in a delicious tomatoey broth. It's a fan favorite that has not made an appearance yet this fall, so I figured it was about time!!

The soup begins with sauteing chorizo, a mildly spicy smoked sausage made with pork, rich spices, & paprika. Next, diced carrots, onions, red bell peppers, and garlic are added along with Spanish paprika, a little crushed red pepper, and bay leaves. Once the veggies are softened, diced tomatoes, shredded chicken and homemade chicken stock are incorporated and brought to a simmer.

While waiting for the soup to simmer, we cook the Spanish rice and then add it to the soup. The soup is garnished with Spanish olives, shredded Manchego cheese, and fresh lemon juice and cilantro to add a salty, fresh bite!

The bread companion this week is my ITALIAN HERB BREAD. This delicious bread is filled with garlic, butter and fresh herbs. This bread is a fan favorite and the fresh herbs in it will make a perfect compliment to your soup.

Jenny Sue will be taking the week off as we figured everyone will get their fill of sweets tomorrow!! She'll be back next week with another one of your favorites ....

Hello!

Many of you inquired about soup next week. Normally I do not do soup the week of Thanksgiving, but since so many requested soup, I thought I would give it a whirl. But in all honesty, I will be keeping it a bit small since I have some Thanksgiving prep to get done, so get your orders in quick as I think this menu will sell fast!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26th is CREAMY TORTELLINI SOUP, ROSEMARY FOCACCIA, & BOURBON PECAN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. Cheese filled tortellini are immersed in an extra creamy tomato broth alongside Italian sausage and kale, creating a hearty and comforting soup. I made this tasty new soup a few weeks ago and couldn't stop thinking about it! With temperatures dropping today, it's the perfect time to add this soup to the menu.

The soup begins with sauteing Italian sausage in the pot. Once browned, onion, garlic, paprika, fennel and additional spices are added. Once the onion has softened, tomato paste, tomato puree, and homemade chicken stock are incorporated and brought to a boil. Next, cheese filled tortellini are dropped in and simmer until cooked. Half-n-half, kale, and fresh basil are added and cooked until warmed and it's garnished with fresh lemon juice and parmesan cheese.

The bread companion this week is my ROSEMARY FOCACCIA. It's crisp on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside. Extra-virgin olive oil gives the bread texture and flavor while fresh rosemary and flaked sea salt add the finishing touches to make this bread so unbelievably delicious.

On the menu for dessert this week are BOURBON PECAN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES - a customer favorite! These cookies are sweet, salty, and chewy with a hint of bourbon! They are made with browned butter and buttered toasted pecans, topped with sea salt and are baked to perfection. ~ Jenny from Jenny Sue Delights

Happy Thursday!

It's been a few weeks since you've heard from me, I took a break to go visit my college kids. I fed a bunch of them (which made my heart so happy), saw some football games (one was great & one not so great), and enjoyed a bunch of fun tailgates with family and friends. It was the break I definitely needed!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19th is TURKEY MEATBALL SOUP WITH ARUGULA and ROASTED RED PEPPER BREAD. This delicious soup is loaded with flavorful meatballs, fresh tomatoes and peppery arugula. It's a lighter soup, as it doesn't have any extra carbs or beans, yet is still a filling and satisfying meal.

The soup begins with browning the meatballs in the oven to intensify their flavor. The meatballs are filled with ground turkey, prosciutto, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, fresh parsley and lemon zest. Meatballs made from ground turkey can be dry and flavorless, but I promise these meatballs are not. The prosciutto adds both fat and flavor while the parsley and lemon zest add additional flavor and freshness.

While the meatballs are browning, the carrots, onion and garlic are sauteing in the pot. Once softened, homemade chicken stock is added along with diced fresh tomatoes. After the soup simmers, the meatballs and arugula are dropped in. The soup is garnished with fresh Parmesan cheese.

The bread companion this week is my ROASTED RED PEPPER BREAD. This bread is beautifully braided and blends together the sweetness of roasted red peppers with a little spiciness from a healthy dose of black pepper. It tastes great with this soup and is also delicious as breakfast toasted with a fried egg on top the next morning 🙂

Happy Thursday!

Hard to believe but this is the 4th time I've offered this menu. This menu makes me happy, as it signals falls arrival. As this is my favorite season of the year ... I love the cooler weather, football games on Saturdays, and all things pumpkin. And now it's time for the Annual Pumpkinfest menu!!

The menu for TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29th features our PUMPKIN TURKEY CHILI and PUMPKIN GINGER BREAD. This chili is hearty, flavorful and packed full of wholesome ingredients. The pumpkin adds a subtle sweetness to the background flavor of this savory chili.

The chili begins with sautéing red bell peppers, poblano peppers, garlic and onion in olive oil. Poblano peppers add a smoky flavor to the chili without adding too much heat. Once the veggies are soft, ground turkey is added to brown along with garlic & onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, cumin, coriander and oregano.

Next, pumpkin puree, tomato sauce and diced tomatoes are added. Homemade chicken stock, black beans, and great northern beans are mixed in, then the chili simmers until all the flavors blend together. The soup is garnished with oyster crackers and my chili topping, a tasty combo of shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, and sour cream.

The bread companion is my Pumpkin Ginger Bread. Ginger and pumpkin are two flavors that just seem to go together, like apples and cinnamon. And they team beautifully in this golden, moist bread. This tasty bread always disappears quickly in my home!!

Hello!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, OCTOBER 22nd is AUTUMN MINESTRONE & SPICY CHEESE BREAD. Minestrone means "Big Soup" to Italians .... a healthy and hearty soup packed with lots of goodies, like seasonal veggies, pasta and beans. The word minestrone stems from Minestra, which means to "dish up" or "serve".....and I'm happy to dish up a big pot of this to your family!!

The soup begins with browning Italian sausage in the pot along with onions, carrots and garlic. Once the meat is browned and veggies are softened, homemade chicken stock, butternut squash, zucchini, diced tomatoes, fresh rosemary and thyme are added.

After the soup simmers, ditalini pasta, bright green kale and red kidney beans are dropped in. The soup is garnished with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese. This minestrone can easily be made without the sausage, you can select to omit the sausage when ordering.

My bread companion this week is my SPICY CHEESE BREAD. This chewy, cheesy bread is legendary in Wisconsin and incorporates red pepper flakes into both the dough and the topping to give it a spicy kick. This flavorful bread will taste delicious alongside this fall soup.

Hello!!

Sorry I messed up the dates last week in my email, guess I was so excited to go visit my college-aged kids that I didn't double check. I promised a soup featuring meatballs and while scrolling through recipes, I found one that I haven't made for almost two years. I have no idea how this one slipped out of the rotation and I'm very happy to bring it back. It's a fan favorite soup .... it's delicious, hearty and filled with meatballs!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15th is VEGETABLE SOUP WITH BASIL MEATBALLS and ITALIAN SUPERMARKET BREAD. The soup begins with assembling the meatballs and browning them in the oven to intensify their flavor. The meatballs are filled with lean ground beef, fresh basil and parsley, breadcrumbs and egg.

Meanwhile, diced onion, garlic, celery, and carrots are sauteed in a little bit of butter in the pot. Once softened, homemade chicken stock, tomato sauce and orzo noodles are added. The soup simmers until all the flavors are blended together and it's garnished with fresh parsley.

The bread companion this week is my, ITALIAN SUPERMARKET BREAD. Just like the name says ... it's a fresh loaf of bread that tastes like the loaves of Italian bread you used to be able to pick up from the supermarket. It has a crispy exterior with a nice chewy bite and is coated in sesame seeds. It is simple, but tastes anything but.

Happy Thursday!!

With Rosh Hashanah approaching next week, it's only fair that I share the best part of the holiday meal with all of you. It's been a few months since this customer favorite soup has made an appearance, so I'll try to leave orders open as long as I can .... but get your order in fast because this soup always sells out in record time!

On the menu for TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1st is CHICKEN SOUP WITH MATZO BALLS & CHALLAH. There's nothing like a comforting and tasty bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup with Matzo Balls, also known as "Jewish Penicillin."

The soup is a simple one....whole Amish chickens, quartered onions, celery sticks and more diced carrots than seems reasonable are dropped into a pot and covered with fresh water.

Once the soup comes to a boil, it simmers for a few hours. Afterwards, the chicken is taken out, shredded and dropped back in along with soft, pillowy matzo balls and thin egg noodles. While I put a fresh garnish on nearly everything I make, this soup I leave alone. It requires nothing.

My bread companion this week is CHALLAH, a soft, eggy bread coated in everything bagel seasoning. Nothing goes together better than challah and chicken soup with matzo balls.

09/19/2024

Hello 🙂

On the menu for TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th is ROSEMARY & BUTTERNUT SQUASH CHICKEN SOUP with MULTI-SEED BREAD. I don't know about all of you, but I am craving fall flavors even though the weather outside is still screaming summer.

So this week's soup is a perfect fit as it features the tasty combination of butternut squash and rosemary, fun-to-eat noodles, and finished with lemon zest and thyme to add freshness. It has all the flavors of fall, in fact every time I make this soup all I can smell is Thanksgiving, and yet it won't feel too heavy to eat in this heat.

The soup begins with sautéing ground turkey with fresh rosemary in a little bit of butter in the pot. Once the turkey is browned, butternut squash, sliced celery and leeks are dropped in along with a little celery seed and fresh thyme. Once softened, homemade chicken stock and campanelle (cone-shaped pasta) are added and brought to a boil. After the noodles are cooked, the soup is garnished with a dollop of sour cream, lemon zest and fresh thyme.

My bread companion this week is my MULTI-SEED BREAD. This delicious bread is dark, slightly sweet and has a satisfying crunch from the multi-seed topping. Not only is it fantastic fresh from the oven, if you can save some for breakfast it makes the best toast!!

Happy Thursday!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17th is TORTILLA SOUP with ITALIAN HERB BREAD. This is my go-to soup when I need a fresh and tasty dinner that my whole family will devour. Usually I start the soup season with this soup but I changed it up this year ... my apologies for making you wait a few weeks to get to order it!!

My tortilla soup begins with sautéing onions, red & orange peppers, garlic and zucchini in olive oil with cumin and chili powder. Once softened, corn and black beans are added.

Next, homemade chicken stock, fire-roasted tomatoes, and tomato sauce are added. The soup simmers until all the flavors are blended and it's garnished with cilantro, shredded cheddar cheese and tortilla strips.

The bread companion this week is my ITALIAN HERB BREAD. This delicious bread is filled with garlic, butter and fresh herbs. This bread is a fan favorite and the fresh herbs in it will make a perfect compliment to your soup.

Hello & Happy Thursday :-)Thank you to everyone for being so understanding about the bread situation earlier this week.....
09/05/2024

Hello & Happy Thursday :-)

Thank you to everyone for being so understanding about the bread situation earlier this week.... for those of you not aware, one of my worst nightmares happened early Tuesday morning. The oven wasn't working so I could not bake bread for the 40 orders I needed to fill!!

I've dreaded something like that happening and for the first time in nearly 8 years, I could not deliver what I promised. But, because I have the most amazing customers, everyone took the news in stride and enjoyed their soups without their delicious bread. I heard lots of "oh no, that's my favorite bread," so I am making challah this week to make sure everyone gets their favorite bread!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th is ITALIAN WEDDING SOUP and CHALLAH. My Italian Wedding soup is a rich chicken soup filled with lots of good things - fresh spinach, creamy pasta and plenty of delicious meatballs!

The soup begins with browning the meatballs in the oven to intensify their flavor. The meatballs are made with ground turkey, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, garlic, fresh parsley, milk, and egg. Meanwhile, onions, carrots and celery are sautéed in the pot.

Once the veggies are soft, homemade chicken stock, white wine and orzo pasta are dropped in. After the pasta is cooked, fresh spinach, dill and lemon zest are dropped in to finish off the soup.

My bread companion this week is CHALLAH, a soft, eggy bread coated in everything bagel seasoning. This light and delicious bread tastes great with everything and this soup is no exception. In fact, my hubby got very excited when he heard about the menu combo for this week!!

To place your soup and bread order, please visit SouperDeliverybyDana.com. If you have any questions on the menu or ordering, please don't hesitate to ask.

Please note, there is a small chance I will have jury duty on Monday morning. I will find out on Friday afternoon if I have to report, and if so, soup might need to be postponed a week. I will let you know if this happens, the chance is very small but I felt I needed to let you know ahead of time just in case.

I look forward to feeding your family,
Dana

Happy Thursday!

I don't know about you, but this heat is killing me! And there's only one soup that can help us beat this heat .... Gazpacho. Gazpacho is a cold soup made of raw, blended vegetables. It is widely eaten in Spain and Portugal, particularly during hot summers, since it is refreshing and cool .... which is exactly what we all need right about now :-)

On the menu for TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3rd is GAZPACHO and CHALLAH. This chilled tomato and vegetable soup makes a perfect lunch or light dinner. My gazpacho is made with fresh tomatoes, cucumber, onions, garlic, red peppers, tomato juice, fresh lemon & lime juice, honey, a splash of red wine vinegar and fresh tarragon and basil.

My bread companion this week is CHALLAH, a soft, eggy bread coated in everything bagel seasoning. This light and delicious bread will be perfect alongside a bowl of Gazpacho.

Happy Thursday!!

I am back and cannot wait to get into the kitchen to cook for all of you and your families. We had a summer packed full of travel, it was so great to get away with my family and explore new places and cuisines. What I took away from all our adventures was a renewed interest to be more creative in the kitchen by continuing to add new soups and breads to the menu. I hope you are excited to join me!!

On the menu for TUESDAY, AUGUST 20th is MEXICAN CHICKEN CORN CHOWDER & GREEN CHILE CHEESE BREAD. This corn chowder is loaded with juicy chicken, fresh corn, tomatoes, red bell peppers, and topped with creamy cheese & crunchy tortilla strips. It's creamy, comforting and the layers of flavors are out of this world. This soup was a hit when I made it a few years ago, I am so happy that I found it in my trusty notebook when searching for new recipes. It's the perfect soup to start out the new soup season as I try to capture the flavors of summer before they are gone.

The soup begins with sauteing diced chicken, onions, and a little bit of jalapeno in olive oil for a few minutes. Diced red bell peppers and garlic are added next along with homemade chicken stock. Fresh corn, creamed corn, diced tomatoes, green chiles plus spices that include cumin, chili powder, paprika, and oregano are stirred into the soup. After the soup simmers, a little cream cheese is added to increase the creaminess of the broth. The soup is garnished with fresh cilantro, tortilla strips and a mexican cheese blend.

The bread companion this week is my Green Chile Cheese Bread. We introduced this tasty bread last year and it's a perfect compliment to this soup!! The bread features the delicious flavors of the Southwest ...smoky, slightly spicy roasted green chiles and creamy cheddar cheese.

And a little update on the missing desserts from the menu ..... Jenny Sue Delights is busy with her growing family and will be on a break until November. We will all love her delicious treats and look forward to her desserts returning to the menu :-)

To place your soup and bread order, please visit SouperDeliverybyDana.com. If you have any questions on the menu or ordering, please don't hesitate to ask.
