Just to clear up any confusion there may be regarding Capitol Plaza Hotel and J.Morgan's Steakhouse:
Capitol Plaza reopened in the beginning of April, and we have been welcoming guests and hosting events ever since. 🏨
Unfortunately, the original opening date for J.Morgan's has been pushed back, but is now scheduled for June! 🍔🥗🥩
We know it has been a long road to recovery, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We cannot wait to share more detailed information in the coming weeks, and to welcome everyone back to our newly remodeled space.

Now hiring for: CONFERENCE MANAGER!

Duties include:
• Coordinating set up and break down of conference rooms for all events
• Creating schedule for crew
• Greeting clients to make sure they have everything they need for a successful event
• Reading and understanding banquet event orders to execute events
• Assisting with running food or serving buffet for large events or when needed
• Place beverage and linen orders
• Follow capacity and set-up guidelines pertaining to safety regulations
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Working alongside the banquet manager and sales manager to coordinate and execute details of each event
• Set up and testing of audio visual equipment prior to events, and troubleshooting issues as needed

Full time. Willing to train. Pay is based on experience.

Schedule to include days, nights and weekends dependent on the needs of the hotel.

We know there have been a lot of rumors swirling around in the community regarding Capitol Plaza Hotel and J.Morgan's Steakhouse so we wanted to answer some FAQ:

No, we have not reopened yet, but we hope to be back in April!
Yes, the restaurant will definitely be reopening.
Yes, we will still host conferences and events as we always have.

For decades, Capitol Plaza Hotel has been happy to partner with Alpha Delta Kappa to host a Giving Tree for families who are less fortunate in the Central Vermont area.
Although the hotel is currently still closed due to the flood, the tree is up in the cafeteria at National Life Group and regardless of its location, we hope our wonderful patrons will help make it a success again this year! 🎁
If you cannot make it to National Life, you can still help as the lovely ladies from ADK will also be accepting funds to shop for the items in need and will distribute them to 29 families. 🥰
Please consider contributing to this wonderful cause to keep the tradition going. ✨️

As many of you may or may not know, we suffered a catastrophic flood on Tuesday. Our entire parking lot and lower level flooded, and at its peak, we had a few feet of water in our lobby. We lost everything. All of our network servers, computers, tables, chairs, linens, food and beverage. There are currently no phone lines or WiFi at the hotel so this Facebook post is an attempt to get the word out.

The hotel, as well as J.Morgan's Steakhouse, are both currently CLOSED and will be for the foreseeable future, although we do not have a specific timeline to re-open. Please understand this situation is still developing, so we are not able to provide any more details at this time. We are currently evaluating the damage and working on getting everything back up and running as soon as possible.

If you had a hotel reservation between today and August 31st, please reach out to Hilton directly to cancel at 800 445 8667. You can also cancel at hilton.com or on the Hilton app. If you had an event scheduled between now and August 31st, that will automatically be canceled for you. If you have questions about existing hotel reservations, scheduled events or room blocks in September and beyond, please email [email protected] or [email protected], or feel free to message us on here. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

We appreciate everyone who has reached out with kind words, well wishes and offers to help us get us back on our feet. Montpelier is an amazing community that we are incredibly proud to be a part of. We are hard at work rebuilding, and are eager to welcome you back to the Capitol Plaza!

The Montpelier Recreation Department presents the 25th annual Parent Child Valentine's Dance. Join us on Friday, February 10th at the Capitol Plaza Hotel for a fun night of festivities. DJ Jim Severance will be rocking the tunes once again. The dance starts at 6:30 pm, and tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.
Advance tickets are $20 per couple and $5 per additional guest. Door tickets are $25 per couple and $5 per additional guest. Tickets can be purchased right at the Rec Center office (55 Barre St.). Our office hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Tickets will be available for purchase online as well by Wednesday, February 1st. Advance ticket sales end on Thursday, February 9th at 4 PM for in-person purchase and Friday, February 10th at noon for online purchases.
