It's been a month now since Montpelier illuminated their bridges... have you had a chance to visit them yet? 🔆

Bridges are among the most important visual elements of any city, connecting neighborhoods to each other, to downtown, and to the natural world. Seven bridges in the heart of Montpelier’s downtown have been professionally illuminated: the Bailey Avenue, Taylor Street, Main Street (Shaw’s), and Granite Street bridges
spanning the Winooski, and the School Street, Langdon Street, and Rialto (State Street) bridges spanning the North Branch. It is our hope that lighting the bridges in the historic downtown will add warmth and beauty to our cityscape, draw visitors from near and far, improve pedestrian safety, and celebrate the community and resilience of Vermont’s capital city!

Calling all live music fans! Come visit us this January to check out the return of The Spice on Snow Winter Music Festival, which has been on hiatus for 5 years!

This three day celebration of roots and folk music, from January 17th - 19th, features outstanding nationally known Cajun and Old-Time musicians. There are concerts, dances, workshops, family events, jam sessions and free performances city-wide in Montpelier, Vermont thanks to Montpelier Alive!

The 3 day festival will be kicking off right here at the Capitol Plaza on Friday, Jan 17th and will be featuring Rose & The Bros!

We are humbled and proud to host the Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK) “Giving Tree,” a special holiday initiative dedicated to supporting children and families in Central Vermont. This meaningful tradition has brought joy and relief to our community for over 30 years, and we are honored to continue this legacy in partnership with ADK.

The Giving Tree will be set up in our lobby at the Capitol Plaza Hotel, located at 100 State Street, Montpelier, VT, through December 16th. The tree still holds a few tags, each representing a wish or need for a child or family.

Our cozy downtown celebrates its second Cocoa Crawl to make the holidays even cozier. Throughout the day on Saturday, December 7th, you'll find different musicians playing in different cafes around town, where you can enjoy sipping a hot cocoa (or another beverage) and warm up! For the first time, on Nov. 16, seven key bridges will be illuminated in Montpelier’s historic downtown!

Montpelier has almost two dozen highway, railroad, vehicular, and pedestrian bridges crossing the four rivers that flow through it. Montpelier Alive, the city’s downtown revitalization organization, believes that artfully lighting the bridges will both add warmth and beauty to the cityscape during the dark winter months, and we tend to agree!

Just to clear up any confusion there may be regarding Capitol Plaza Hotel and J.Morgan's Steakhouse:
Capitol Plaza reopened in the beginning of April, and we have been welcoming guests and hosting events ever since. 🏨
Unfortunately, the original opening date for J.Morgan's has been pushed back, but is now scheduled for June! 🍔🥗🥩
We know it has been a long road to recovery, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. We cannot wait to share more detailed information in the coming weeks, and to welcome everyone back to our newly remodeled space.
