The Vermont Creative Network invites you to a networking lunch at Montpelier's newest venue, the Montpelier Performing Arts Hub.

This free event is a time to meet other creatives in the area and relax, before coming across the street to the optional grantseeker workshop hosted by the Vermont Arts Council. Bring your own lunch or enjoy the sandwiches and salad provided. RSVPs are helpful for planning, but not required. Join us this Friday! The in partnership with the Montpelier Performing Arts Hub are hosting a public screening of Emilio Estevez’s “The Public”. This film, starring Emilio Estevez and Alec Baldwin, is a raw and important story that will kick off an important community discussion about our ongoing homeless crisis in Vermont and around the country.

The event will start at 6pm on Friday, February 7 and will include a 15 minute pre-show discussion, 2 hour movie screening, and 45 minute post-show discussion led by Good Samaritan Haven staff. Concessions will be available for purchase with a pay it forward model in place to ensure all in attendance can access this resource.

We are seeking performers for Hub's Got Talent: A Musical Theater Showcase!

Have a favorite musical theater song you've always wanted to perform? Or one you've been itching to learn? In this showcase experience, you will get to choose a song and work with our creative team on your piece, both vocally and theatrically, to create a show-stopping performance! You will also work with the full group on one group number, including harmonies, movement, and more.

Register and submit a video audition by January 31 to participate in this showcase! We will hold three rehearsals in February and March to prepare for our performance on March 8 at 8pm. Learn more and register today at www.mpa-hub.org/classes!

You’re invited to the Hub’s Winter Warm-Up Celebration! Join us at 7pm on February 1!

Let’s raise a glass and celebrate how far the Hub has come, thanks to the help of so many! Please join us for an evening of music, dancing, and socializing as we feed the flames of passion for this exciting Central VT project!

From 7:00-7:45 pm, we will have a cocktail hour accompanied by 25 Strings. At 8:00 pm, EmaLou & The Beat will take the stage.

EmaLou and the Beat is folk with soul. An acoustic trio featuring three part harmony, guitar, and percussion Alayna Howard, Emma Cook, and Andy Feltus have been performing together for over a decade. Playing a mix of contemporary and classic folk, rock ‘n roll, and pop music with their originals mixed in. This Sunday, come to the Traveler’s Circle! Join us for an evening of storytelling with Mark Laxer, from 5-8pm.

The Traveler’s Circle (tc), founded in 1996 by Montpelier author Mark Laxer. It’s a fun, informal way to get storytelling experience and to learn about the larger world. Here’s how it works. It’s like jamming. Someone starts by telling a story and that story sparks another story—and another—and before you know it, mostly everyone has shared a story, as the theme through the evening evolves.

Please join us for Illumination Night on Tuesday, December 17. The event will be co-hosted by VCFA (), Greenway Institute (), & the Montpelier Performing Arts Hub. We will meet at the fountain in front of College Hall (36 College Street) at 5:30pm to sing holiday carols and then move indoors to the Montpelier Performing Arts Hub (35 College Street) for a celebration with desserts, warm beverages, and live music. On November 1, come check out a reading of Under the World Tree, a new play by local playwright and politician, Conor Casey! Since her accident, college sophomore Freya spends each day sitting under a tree and talking to her squirrel friend, Ratatosk. Her eccentric behavior becomes worrying when strange things start happening on campus, including the disappearance of a classmate. In Under the World Tree, Norse gods are real and Freya struggles to accommodate their increasingly bloody demands.
