“I want a mountain micro-wedding amongst the trees. A king’s table, a cool lounge, a bar tent, a dance floor and a live band. I want lights hung up in the trees over the dance floor!!”

I don’t know about you, but sometimes taking an idea I have in my head and verbalizing it in a way that makes sense, can be, well, hard… and left up to interpretation, each person can bring an entirely different idea to life… And for your wedding, not so cool.

If you’re looking for a really wonderful, local charity to this holiday season, consider .clausforacause! Leah Cole and her amazing board spend the whole year fundraising to make sure all the kids in the community get a fantastic Christmas.

This weekend, alongside so many local businesses including , , put on their 5th annual event giving out free gifts, food and activities to over 2,000 people!

I honestly can’t say enough good things about this organization and all they do for our community!

(And I got to live out my life long dream of playing Sleeping Beauty so thank you!)

One of my FAVORITE parts of my job is ….. research! I love nothing more than digging in and finding information. (Seriously, reading a nonfiction book takes me forever because it always leads to even more exploration!)
As a wedding planner, the research I get to do is finding the PERFECT vendors for each of my couples! These past few weeks I have gotten to tour multiple venues locally and get all their details, so when you say “I want to have a (fill in the blank) wedding”, I already have some recommendations ready for amazing vendors run by even more amazing people!

This age old quandary has a solution! Let me present the His & Hers cocktails idea! I saw this amazing plan in action this summer at a wedding by the wonderful .co and it was fantastic!
Each of the bridal couple chooses a signature cocktail, then choose some of their favorite wines/beers/seltzer to be offered and voilà, a cost effective way for your family and friends to have a grand party!

At one point or another, we have all asked a bride how her wedding went and if it was everything she dreamed it would be. Sadly, what’s the answer so many brides give after their big day? My name is Brette and I am the owner of Wild Poppy Events! I am a Colorado local, the mommy of a wild and wonderful daughter and your event planner!

A couple fun facts about me:
•I LOVE hiking and paddle boarding. If you want to plan your wedding on top of a mountain, I’m your girl!
•I am an avid reader and in the process of writing my first book
•My love language is food and coffee, if your hire me, know I’ll end up feeding you!
