Trollwood Performing Arts School, located at Bluestem Center for the Arts, is a unique arts organization committed to providing high quality arts education, exceptional community entertainment, and serves as a community events and exposition center. Trollwood serves as the managing arm for Bluestem Center for the Arts, a world-class facility headquartered in Moorhead, MN. The campus includes river

views, grassy meadows, woods and wildlife, outdoor stages, a 2,500-seat amphitheatre, and the beautiful Marcil Commons which serves as an educational center and rental space including warm, knotty pine rooms with beautiful park views. Trollwood Performing Arts School's youth programs are committed to providing high quality performing arts education and exceptional community entertainment. Since 1978, thousands of young people have spent their summers learning, growing, and making friends at Trollwood. Trollwood offers nine annual arts education, youth leadership and performance programs. The school deliberately incorporates the outdoors because it is our belief that a connection to the natural environment fosters creativity, self-discovery, and an understanding of a healthy way of being alive. With nature as a model, students gain a better appreciation of the value of diversity, adaptability, cooperation, and interdependence. As a program of the Fargo Public Schools, Trollwood is accredited through the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction.

We are thrilled to announce that the 2025 Trollwood Children's Theatre show is Disney's Aristocats Kids! Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, Disney’s The Aristocats Kids is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns. TCT is open to students currently in Grades 5 & 6 and goes from July 21-August 12.

We are beyond excited to announce Disney's High School Musical Jr. as our 2025 Totally Trollwood Musical! Disney's smash hit movie musical comes to life as Troy, Gabriella, and the students of East high deal with issues of love, friends, and family while balancing classes and extra curricular activities.

Totally Trollwood Musical is open to students currently in Grades 6-8 and is July 9-August 7. Registration for Trollwood summer programming, including TTM, opens next Wednesday, January 8!

As 2024 comes to an end, we reflect with gratitude on a year filled with creativity, growth, and meaningful connections. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we served hundreds of students — from kindergarteners to graduated seniors — through exceptional arts programming, unforgettable performances, and inspiring new initiatives.

Our summer production of The Addams Family was a resounding success, along with numerous
additional arts enrichment programs. In addition, we launched the Trollwood Mentorship Program, a collaboration with Fargo Public School’s Virtual Academy, providing students with individualized coaching in music, acting, and more throughout the school year. Bluestem continues to thrive as a community hub with concerts and events celebrating the arts.

The impact of Trollwood reaches far beyond the stage. Each year, students gain confidence,
discover new talents, and build lasting friendships through their experiences at Trollwood.

Families frequently share how Trollwood has been a transformative part of their lives, providing opportunities for artistic and personal growth in a supportive and encouraging environment. These once-in-a-lifetime experiences happen year after year, thanks to the generosity of our donors who recognize that arts education is essential for creating confident and creative young people.

As we look ahead to 2025, filled with exciting programs and opportunities, we invite you to play a vital role in Trollwood’s success. Your generosity ensures that students can access the transformative power of the arts and experience life-changing moments of growth, creativity, and inspiration. A donation of $10 a month can provide meals or transportation for a student in need, while a onetime gift of $500 could cover a student’s registration fee for the entire summer.
