There hasn’t been any recent public events for our Little Miss Hinckley, Lola Graber, so here’s a little update. The end of January, Bear Creek Pyrotechnics shot a display at The Lake Superior Ice Festival. Lola, and her entire family, came up to Superior to have a visit with her friends/sponsors. She said she really enjoyed the fireworks! The rest of her winter has been taken up with hockey, and school. She’s a little lady of many talents!

This link https://lakesuperioricefestival.com will take you to the site of the Lake Superior Ice Festival (Superior, WI) being held next Friday and Saturday 1/28 & 1/29. We (Bear Creek Pyrotechnics) have the honor of once again shooting the fireworks display for this event, which will be on Saturday around 6:15 pm. I would highly recommend this event as there are many activities taking place over the two days to help you enjoy the outdoors in the Great White North (especially the fireworks!). Doesn't hurt that the current forecast for Superior next Saturday is currently prognosticated to be 27 degrees above zero!!!

Our Little Miss Hinckley, Lola Graber, was busy last weekend! She took part in Santa Days, in Hinckley. She also joined in bell ringing for The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, also in Hinckley. Judging by the smile as big as all outdoors, it seems like Lola is enjoying herself being a reindeer! Merry Christmas, to Lola and all of the Ambassadors! Merry Christmas to all of our friends and family!

Our Little Miss Hinckley, Lola Graber, joined her fellow Ambassadors selling Dip N Dots at Hinckley’s Rockin’ Ribfest. They were raising money for their program. She’s been a busy young lady!

On 9/11, barring a pop up show, we will be shooting our last show of the season. It’s a very special show, to us, for multiple reasons. Bear Creek Tavern, in Cloverdale, is owned by some good friends Rob and Heather Ladd. They are holding their annual car show. It’s a good car show. Check out their page for details. We are honored to shoot for them, after the car show. As many of you know, when we were kids our parents owned that bar. It was called The Welcome Inn. On the 4th of July, our dad and his brother (Uncle Jim) would shoot fireworks that Uncle Jim bought in North Dakota, from behind the bar. They would blast away, laughing like they were little boys again. We were allowed to watch that up close (I wonder where we got the bug). Tomorrow, their boys will recreate that scene. We’ve talked about this for a very long time. Another reason we’re honored to shoot this show. Last, but certainly not least, it’s been twenty years. Twenty years ago, we were sucker punched. That day we saw the worst humanity has to offer, and the best. The stories of exceptional strength, and heroism, still inspire me. For the people who stepped up on 9/11/01, and the days/weeks/months/years after, we have the honor of shooting the “rockets red glare, and bombs bursting in mid air.” For these reasons, I thank Rob and Heather for sponsoring this show. We hope you all enjoy this show as much as we will enjoy shooting it! “We’ll see you tomorrow night!” 😁

After a weekend off our Little Miss Hinckley, Lola Graber, was at the Rutabaga Festival in Askov. After Friday’s coronation of the new Little Miss Askov, she rode the float in the parade on Saturday. She appears to be enjoying herself! Sunday she helped at the local hockey rink, preparing the facilities for the upcoming hockey season.

Our Little Miss Hinckley, Lola Graber, was in Sandstone this past weekend for Quarry Days. She welcomed Little Miss Sandstone as a new Ambassador. Saturday was parade day. She’s getting her parade wave down pat! She also worked the Bingo game.

Our Little Miss, Lola Graber, spent some time at Target Field. The Minnesota Twins held Sparkle Night. All Minnesota royalty was invited. She actually got to go onto the field! That’s a pretty cool experience, right there!

So, this is not a post season post about our summer of shows. This is about a show that we won’t ever forget. A man I’ve been friends with since junior high school (Gilbert Romo) is in town for a long weekend. His son, Frankie Romo, joined us. Long story short, they are fireworks virgins no more! Not only did they add, and then cross shooting a fireworks display off of their bucket list, they were very likely the reason the show went off as perfectly as it did….and I mean perfectly! Here are some photos that our TGB friends will get a kick out of, and some other people might want to chew them out (😂) for! Thank you, Gilbert and Frankie, for making this a show we’ll never forget, and thank you to my wife (Kallie Haines) for getting the awesome digital evidence that it happened!

Hinckley’s National Night Out was the event our Little Miss, Lola, took part in. The ladies helped out the people by taking their plates, and other trash, so they didn’t have to get up to find a receptacle. All four of the Ambassadors took part. Little Miss…Lola Graber and Leah Westrum. Miss Hinckley Ambassadors…Jezzalyn Ringler and Carlee Stelter. Thank you, Ladies! The young lady in green is Lola’s best friend Myloh.

Saturday, July 31st, our Little Miss Hinckley Lola Graber served drinks at the Veterans Car Show at Tobie’s in Hinckley. Shortly after she rode the float in Mora, at the Kanebec County Fair. A lot of volunteering is on the calendar. She’s representing us well!
