We have a new pit master in the making. He can’t read recipes, but he can yell every 2 hours, so that’s a start.

The pit was fired up today for some customers. We had burgers laid out for family dinner, so i decided to throw those on the smoker too. LET ME TELL YA, I’ll never grill again. Look at that smoke ring. These are the best patties I’ve ever had. We will offer these soon!

Afghanistan is a touchy, gut wrenching subject right now for many in our community. While I couldn’t get exact numbers for KY, the National Guard deployed 300,000+ to Afghanistan as of 2011. Regular citizens who answered the call when our country needed it.

As an afghan vet myself, I know many others who fall into the category. Many may feel as their time, efforts, and sacrifices, were a waste.

We at Back Porch Barbecue would like to let you know that is not the case. We are proud of the job that you accomplished as you were assigned to do. You served with honor and our country is better for your individual effort.

As a thank you, we would like to offer a free pulled pork sandwich and side of baked beans to any Afghanistan veteran(OEF) or members of Gold Star families on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Order must be placed by Thursday. We currently will meet in town for drop off at 5pm.

Thank you for your dedication, effort, and service to our great nation. Your service is noticed here at Back Porch Barbecue. We appreciate the sacrifices you have made.

Folks, unfortunately the pandemic has limited our abilities to obtain our licensure and permits. Hopefully we’ll be able to obtain those soon. However, in the mean time, take a gander at this 6lbs Boston Butt(pulled pork) we prepared for our friends for the Battle of The Bluegrass game this past Saturday.
