40 Years ago, the "W... V... U... WVU!" cheer was debuted for the first time by "The Pride of West Virginia" - The Mountaineer Marching Band during the Sept 3, 1983 WVU vs Ohio University Pregame Show.

During ONLY the 1983 season, "The Pride of West Virginia" - The Mountaineer Marching Band made TWO state outlines at the end of Country Roads. From the September 3, 1983 WVU vs Ohio University Pregame Show 40 years ago. Let's Go Mountaineers!
