Rain or Shine we'll have a good time!

If it rains we will move the event indoors so don't let a little rain stop you from coming to the Cheat Lake VFD on Sunday, October 15th from 2p-5p. We will have ring toss, fire truck tours, a haunted ambulance, several first responders with their rigs and other businesses with displays. My son, Oscar, is excited to walk the plank at the Cheat Lake UMC 's pirate themed display.

After Truck or Treat we will move the fun upstairs for the Chili cookoff as part of Dinner Church. It's not you typical church sermon, more of a discussion lead by Pastor Amber Baker . Join is for some fellowship and delicious food! We will be giving away a trophy to the best cook (chili) and best baker.

Come vote for your favorite chili. Yes, we will have corn bread and fixins. So far the bakers are making carmel apple cookies, brownies, and chocolate pumpkin cupcakes.

October 15, 2023 will be packed with fun at the Cheat Lake VFD ! ALL FREE EVENTS!

Our Truck or Treat has even more displays than last year! Come out from 2p-5p for not only candy but games, prizes, tattoos, and an opportunity to explore a fire truck! One of our members made an awesome photo opportunity for the parents too (see pic below).

After the Truck or Treat join us for some good food! Cheat Lake UMC is hosting at Chili Cook Off at our dept for dinner church. Amber Baker will talk a little about a topic while we eat. We will be giving away a trophy to the best cook and one to the best baker! You don't want to miss this event!

Sooo at our next Dinner Church we are going to have 6 or so people make chili and vote on who made the best one. We even have a trophy to hand out to the winner. We also have a trophy for the best baker. Of course we will have corn bread too!

Answer: YES! He couldn't come to the last one but he will definitely be at this one! The night flows so much better with him doing the comedy and announcing!
