Room Reveal for M&D
If you've followed around here for any amount of time, you know I love to do a room reveal with my couples on their wedding day. Bring them into their reception room before guests come in, candles are freshly lit, music playing in the background. I make it all very dramatic and make them close their eyes and make sure the photographer and videographer are perfectly postitioned to capture their reactions. It's one of my favorite parts of my job because it gives them just a few moments to soak it all in and say "Holy cow, this is our wedding! And it's a moment that's just purely about them taking it all in.
So what is extra special about this room reveal below is that we didn't actually plan a room reveal. Our timeline didn't allow for it as I normally do it so I just chalked it up that I wasn't going to get to do it with this sweet couple even though it made me sad. This ended up being so impromptu because their bridal party shuttle arrived back a little earlier than planned so I asked if they wanted to come see their reception. A few guests were already mingling around and I didn't make it dramatic with closed eyes or anything of the sort, we simply walked into their reception to take a peek while their guests were mingling on the front lawn of the Country Club of Peoria enjoying cocktail hour. What I love about ParkLife Films is that even though we didn't stage it, they saw the moment unfolding organically and came right over and captured snippets of it. What I love about them even more is that they knew how much it'd mean to me if they sent it my way.
Enjoy the most beautiful peek of this wedding for the sweetest, sweetest couple that brought this veteran wedding planner to full on tears when I saw my bride's reaction. This part of my job will never get old.
Pardon me while I just keep reliving the magic from last Friday’s wedding. It’s a nice breather as we finish prep for two amazing weddings coming up this Saturday! One is earthy organic and the other is preppy Kate Spade. That is easily the best part of the job - every couple, every wedding, every weekend is different and I adore them all!
Room Reveal - Morgan & Alejandro
I have a few favorite moments in my job. I love first meeting potential clients, bonding with them and deciding to work together. I love the final details meeting before the big day arrives as I watch their nervous excitement and anticipation wondering how the day will unfold and knowing the "work" of planning is over and now they sit back and wait for the day. I love watching their nervous energy at rehearsal knowing there are so many emotions going through their minds as they await the day ahead. I love sending my brides down the aisle. And I love, love, love when we get the opportunity to do a room reveal for a client...a moment where it's just them as a couple and I get to show them how everything came together and they get to soak in their wedding. If they don't take the moment for a reveal - they often don't get a moment to see their room "untouched" - they don't see it until after introductions, guests are in there, coats are on chairs, etc. I love to show them the "pure" look of their reception and give them a moment to say exactly what sweet Morgan said when she opened her eyes..."Holy Crap!" Because no matter how involved or detailed my clients are, it's impossible to imagine everything coming together and getting to see it while also being fueled with all of the love and excitement of wedding day. Here's a peek of Morgan & Alejandro's room reveal from a few weeks back - her reaction was so sweet and sincere and I'm so thankful ParkLife Films sent over this footage so I could relive it....and I could share it with you! Enjoy a glimpse into one of my absolute favorite parts of my job.
At one of our first meetings together, the bride asked for some of my favorite, unique moments from weddings. Her eyes lit up when we talked about a bagpiper and she said she wanted to surprise the groom. So for nearly 18 months, we kept this secret, left it off of timelines, had side conversations and even today, hid the bagpiper away until it was go time. The timing couldn’t have been better - as they were announced, the bagpiper started playing in the distance and walked down the aisle to get the couple and brought them back out. The groom and the guests were so surprised and I loved seeing him wipe his eyes. Total goosebumps at the overwhelming perfection of the moment.
I literally live for these moments.
Room reveals will never get old. Never, ever, ever.
This moment and the moment right before I send a bride down the aisle are undoubtedly the best moments of a wedding day for me. 💕
My pics/video will never do it justice but here’s just a peek of the amazingness that Create A Scene, Inc.created for us on the staircase at Trailside Event Center - the perfect welcome into the gorgeous wedding!
Every time we set up at The Warehouse on State for a wedding it just so happens that The Runaway Rack is here in the parking lot just tempting us to come in! Good thing every wedding isn't here or else I'd be broke (but so well dressed!). Get down here and shop with Runaway Rack until 2:00! I left a few things for others! 😉. #shoppingaddict. #especiallywithshaywhoisthenicestpersonever.
Ever wonder the difference between a wedding coordinator and a wedding planner?
