So honored to work with Delaney Evers and the PACT in Centerville to make Appanoose County a destination wedding area! With 8 local venues, each unique to themselves and capable of hosting 50 to 450 and businesses to support these weddings, this is an amazing opportunity for all of us!!! It takes a village to host a wedding because of all the intricate pieces necessary to capture the perfect day and Appanoose County has the best!

For the last 9 days we have talked about wedding traditions. Now let’s talk about weddings today.

Dare to be different! Not every wedding is the same nor should they be. Every fairy tale is different, every love story is different and every vision is different. This year I have had some amazing brides step away from traditional and the results have been simply awesome. And if you want twinkies, star crunches and al of the little Debbie favorites on your dessert table….then do it! If you want a pasta bar…I’m in!!! Let’s do it! If you want breakfast for dinner….and a cinnamon roll cake tower…sounds good!! How about a whoopie pie dessert table?❤️how about a iced coffee trailer, I will do a slushie😁If you want Christmas in July….do it!!! And for the win….rust and pampas grass🥰You won’t want to miss the pictures of this one! 🥰With a lot of love and a little luck you are only going to do this once, so make it count!!! And as long as it is safe and won’t cause any damage, I am in!! Let’s make this a year to remember! Can’t wait to see what we come up with for this year!!

Decoration showcase starts February 5th! We have a lot of vendors that will have their information out during this two week event as well! I do believe we have everyone scheduled! Wedding trivia day 9…giving away the bride.

This wedding ceremony tradition dates back to a time of arranged marriages, where the “giving away” of the bride represented a transfer of ownership. Back then, young women were used as collateral and were given away in exchange for a “bride price” or dowry. Today, this tradition has shifted away from its antiquated origins and is now an opportunity for a father, mother, brother or even a grandparent to es**rt his daughter down the aisle to meet the person she is about to marry. We have even had a few occasions where the brides child will es**rt her down the aisle and it is just the sweetest.

Wedding trivia day 6….the cake

My mom baked wedding cakes for over 40 years boosting my love for weddings. A gorgeous wedding cake is often the centerpiece of a wedding and typically sits in a place of honor at the reception. When mom was baking cakes we had 5-7 tiers all posted often with a fountain, stairs and so much more! Wedding cakes date back to medieval times. From cutting the cake together, to feeding each other the first piece, to saving the top tier of the cake for your one year anniversary, a grooms cake, the list goes on. But bet you didn’t know this one…

It is thought that a person sleeping with a piece of wedding cake under her pillow will dream of her future partner that night. This custom dates back almost 300 years.
