Barely making the last prompt to end an epic week of incredible films!
This one is so near to my heart since it's about conservation. Everytime those @ #$%!&$ take down the Tree of Souls, my heart both breaks and is infuriated because this happens everyday. Tearing down the beauty and majesty of nature for the almighty dollar. It makes me sick.
But I love the hope that permeates the film, even when everything the Na'avi love is in ruin. There is always hope as long as there are people who care. We can't let the machine win.

Done entirely in h2o inks and brushes with just a hint of shimmer.

Man...this movie makes me SOB like a baby. Every. Single. Time.
The song from hits hard too but it's SO beautifully done and geeze...when she hit those power note in the key change at the end...I'm a freakin' mess. I wanted some inspiration while drawing this piece so I played it...I'm lucky I didn't smear my ink...
Anyway...
is today's movie for the and it's another one of my all time faves, even if it leaves me in shatters on the floor by the end...

is the movie for today's from and and it was a fun one! I didn't have much time with this one since I'm knee-deep in the final proofread of my upcoming illustrated children's novel (my fabulous sis is my co-illustrator❤️) But even though my Skywalker doesn't look exactly like I'm still happy with the finished piece and so thrilled to bring one of my absolute favorite movies to inky life 😀

Charging into day 2 of this week's with and with another classic film, 1959's Ben Hur
It's been said that over 150 horses died during the filming of the famous chariot race scene so I chose to pay tribute to them by keeping the horse as the focal point. I'm a bit rusty since I haven't drawn a horse in a LONG time but I'm happy overall.
Just ignore the spacing on my letters...🤣

Since the paper in this new sketchbook is a bit thinner than I'd hoped, I tried something new with my inktense blocks. I took my paper smudger, rubbed it on the dry block then rubbed it on the paper to create some of the softer shadows and it worked out nicely. Gonna keep that trick 😉

Other than that, everything is done in @ microns. I'm really digging the grey tones! Gives the look of a pencil drawing and no smudges!

It's all about award winning movies and today's is one of my absolute favorites (both movie and book): Rebecca.
I have fond memories watching this as a kid with my Grandpa on channel 9/WOR in New York. We'd always watch the 4o'clock movie together and Hitchcock's classic was one of our favorites.💙
And yes, the writing is intentionally smeared 😁

She did it!!!! Sprout has officially finished the challenge!!!! Wooohooo!!
I am SO proud of this kid! She took on a formidable 31 day challenge and tackled it in 3 and a half days!! I am really impressed that she stuck with it, even though she was thinking about stopping earlier this evening. So here goes another entry into the contest!
Great job, babe, I love all of your drawings, your perseverance and your sense of humor. So proud and humbled to be your mom❤️
And as promised, I'm going on Amazon to buy you that mini sketchbook 🤣

It's a Sprout-Over!!
So originally both my daughter and hubby were gonna do the challenge with me but they got intimidated at the amount of art to be created and backed out at the last minute. Fast forward to yesterday, when she found out that allowed entries into their under 18 with parental consent. Since she loves about as much as I do and since the entries are due on 11/4, she decided to take on the 31 day challenge in FOUR DAYS. Ya gotta admire her tenacity.
So here are her 1st eight. She was working so fast she had a few spelling errors but I am so proud of her and absolutely LOVE where she's going with this!

She's across from me, drawing up a storm even as I type, so give her some love and cheer her on with me!
