One of three common mullein that decided to grace the yard this year. Introduced by early Europeans, it was once used for....fishing. While considered invasive in some states, it's never been an issue for me here - so I leave them alone because the pollinators love all that nectar. It also has some medicinal applications. You've probably seen it growing near railroad tracks.

Just stopped down to water/fertilize the flowers at the fire hall, and I wanted to thank the people who are helping tend to them. It's nice to know they're well cared for by others, too!

Flowers going to the Miller family in Clermont on behalf of our community after yesterday's tragic loss of their 3 year old daughter, Mary.
