Thank you! Yesterday was a great day for West 903, Mt Vernon and surrounding areas! MV Coalition of Charities held the inaugural meeting with a luncheon. There are so many needs in our growing town. Reach out to the Mt. Vernon MO Area Chamber of Commerce to be added to the list for updates. This is exactly what we wanted our little building to be used for; community growth.
Per the Mt Vernon Chamber, “What an incredible meeting and what a terrific response we received!! We had people attend from Joplin, Aurora, Neosho, Carthage and Monett in addition to Mt. Vernon to contribute to this new Coalition of Charities.
🟢We identified prominent resources that address challenges in our area including childcare, public transportation, food insecurities, addiction and recovery, housing and so many other basic needs. We learned how important it is to stay in close communication with what we al
🟢Going forward this new Mt. Vernon Coalition of Charities will meet monthly, and we invite all to participate— nonprofits, business owners, churches, and individuals alike. Because when we all pull together, we make a big impact. We will be making strides to create a cohesive network of difference-makers so we can make real advancements and solve some of these challenges. Creating solutions will improve our workforce, enhance the quality of life for many families, assist children, strengthen our school district, and support neighbors in need.
