The maiden of the market this week is a personal favorite of mine CASTLE DRIVE! She is a beautiful pink and yellow toned dahlia with hints of lavender throughout her petals. You won’t want to miss out on this sought-after, designer dahlia variety.

But if there’s one thing I want to remind you of, it’s never to let this adult world rob you of your adolescent joy, and rebellious spirit. You’re going to need both on this wild ride of life.

FlowerFunk’s market debut at Christianson’s was a blooming success! I loved meeting, friendly, locals, excited out-of-towners, and FlowerFunk class alums as they explored the market.
Amid all the hustle and bustle, this is the only photo I managed to snap, perfectly capturing the drizzle beauty of the day. We can’t wait for next week and hope to see you at the scheduled Valley farmers market next Sunday, June 2 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
The first sweet pea of the season marks a huge win for FlowerFunk! When I was planning my crops for the season, I was determined to compete with the “big farms”, a pretty funky idea for a first year flower farm.
Both my sweet peas and ranunculus were started during the late fall; meaning these little ones were in for a long, cold winter. My confidence drained when temperatures dipped into the single digits…WHAT WAS I THINKING?
And yet, the ranunculus and sweet peas reminded me to bloom boldly! -owned

“ ‘I’m going to be my own cheerleader about this, I really am’,” I sobbed to my sister in 2023, sharing my funky idea of starting a flower farm—with no land, no equipment, and a small handful of dahlia tubers. Without hesitation, my sister, my biggest fan, jumped in to help me organize my frazzled brain into action. Yesterday, FlowerFunk Blooms celebrated its VERY FIRST BIRTHDAY, and what a journey it’s been! From tiny seeds to bountiful harvests, this funky dream has blossomed into something truly magical. I’m so proud of what we’ve grown—from the bouquets that have brightened homes, to the love-filled weddings, and the joy of flower workshops. Of course, no adventure comes without its bumps along the way. I froze buckets of flowers, lost entire trays of seedlings, and weeded out full rows of crops. But those tough moments have been my greatest teachers. There is always room to grow—both in the field and in life.
