I’m Denise Acosta, owner and your wedding planner for Emerald Events Planning and Coordination. So who am I?
I am very much in love. I am a mom and a wife. Once upon a time, I was a proud Sailor of the United States Navy. I love singing in my car, chatting with girlfriends, and watching my boys play football...and I love being a event planner.
Parties have always been a passion for me. As a child, my mother would help coordinate wedding and quinceaneras and I would be there every step of the way with her.
In January 2013, I became the Event Planner for the Port of Anacortes. I loved my job and learned a lot about marketing, advertising and public events. Then in 2017 I started planning my own daughters quinceanera. That was when I started to dream about opening up my own event planning business. It wasn’t till July 2019 that I was brave enough to start this venture. For me it is the perfect balance of my desire to be a working artist and my get business done approach to life; and because I have a quick brain, I am great with details, I love a challenge and approach problem solving with an adjust, pivot & move forward attitude... it was a perfect fit.
