Bobby Franklin “Red” Rasberry
Mr. Bobby Franklin “Red” Rasberry, 82, of Mullins, was reunited with his beloved wife Helen F. Rasberry, during the late evening of Monday, June 17, 2024, while at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, following a brief illness.
Mr. Red, as everyone knew him, was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a kind soul who never met a stranger, was born on March 1, 1942, in Aynor, South Carolina. He was a son, one of many brothers and sisters, of the late John James Rasberry and the late Lou Emma Spears Rasberry. Red was an Automobile Salesman and owner and operator of Elite Motors here in Mullins. He met numerous people through his job, always giving a kind word, a firm handshake, and asking about family. Mr. Red was a stylish man, always dressed to the nines everywhere he went. He loved Ms. Helen and indulged her in her decorations and suggestions for the yard and house. Mr. Red was a member of the Mullins First Baptist Church; he loved his church and his church family. They only made one when they made Mr. Rasberry, and he will truly be missed by all.
Mr. Rasberry is survived by his loving daughter, Sheila Rasberry Thomas and her husband, Glenn, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; his two apples of his eye, his grandchildren: Matthew Thomas and Kaley Thomas; his sister, Velma Tennyson and her husband, Sam, of Florence; his brother, Jerry Rasberry and his wife, Connie, of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces and nephews, and close friends.
Mr. Red was predeceased by his brothers: James, Thomas, Earl, Richard, Leon, and Malcolm, and his three sisters, Polly Reynolds, Juanita Apollo, and Barbara Naccarato.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 20, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins.
The family will lay Mr. Red to rest in a private family service Friday, with Reverend Robbie Baxley and Dr. Kenneth Sandifer delivering words of encouragement and comfort to the family. The family asks for continued prayers and quiet understanding during this difficult time.
