The origin of the Youngstown Cookie Table

The cookie table is a tradition that dates back to the early twentieth century and the hardships of the Great Depression. Immigrants in the Youngstown area utilized their baking traditions to create a cookie table in lieu of an elaborate wedding cake. This task was shared among grandmothers, aunts, and cousins. The women of the family are proud to call it a labor of love. 💕
