BREAKING NEWS: Epic Universe set to open on 05/22/25 and tickets will go on sale next week!

“This is such a pivotal moment for our destination, and we’re thrilled to welcome guests to Epic Universe next year,” Karen Irwin, president and chief operating officer of Universal Orlando Resort, said in a news release Thursday.

Phase one of Epic Universe ticket sales will begin next Tuesday and limited to specific multi-day tickets and vacation packages with three, four, our five day admission to Universal Parks (with a limit of one day at Epic Universe)

Post- Hurricane Milton updates 10/10/24:

MCO (Orlando) to allow some inbound flights this evening, to resume flights tomorrow. Check with your airline to see about your individual flights.

Port Canaveral remains closed

TPA (Tampa) airport planning to reopen tomorrow. Tampa is under a state of emergency; please follow emergency updates from official channels.

The Port of Tampa is currently without power and remains closed as damage is assessed.

The port of Miami is open with minimal operations

The port of Ft Lauderdale is awaiting clearance to reopen.

Walt Disney World and Universal Studios sustained minimal damage and are scheduled to reopen tomorrow.

Pausing to take a moment to keep those in Florida in our thoughts as Milton heads to Florida to make landfall tonight and into early tomorrow morning. I am posting regular updates to my page for those traveling to or from the area to keep apprised of news.

To all the people that will be impacted by Milton, stay strong. Many of the communities in Milton's path were hit by Helene. Our hearts break for you as you face this dangerous and powerful storm. Praying that it weakens due to shear before making landfall.

Hurricane Milton Updates: Weds AM:

Hurricane Milton expected to make landfall tonight or early tomorrow in the Tampa Bay Area. Tampa bay has not been directly hit by a hurricane in over 100 years. It's currently expected to make landfall as a Category 3 or 4 storm. This is devastating after storm surge from Helene already caused people to lose their homes and property.

Over 1700 Flights have been canceled, The Tampa Airport is closed, the Orlando International Airport (MCO) is closed, and Sarasota/Bradenton is closed. The ports of Key West, St Pete, Tampa, Jacksonville, and Port Canaveral are closed through Friday at the earliest. Several cruise ships have been diverted or delayed, and the Friday sailing of the Disney Wish has been canceled. WDW and Universal Studios will be closing early today and will likely remain closed tomorrow. UPDATE: Universal will be closed Thursday. Hotels remain open to serve their guests.

From the Coast Guard: "The storm will have an impact to our cruise schedule. If you have any questions about a specific sailing, we recommend you contact your cruise line directly as all changes to itineraries will be communicated by your cruise line. The customer service lines for cruise lines sailing from Port Tampa Bay this week are:

Margaritaville at Sea: 800-814-7100
Royal Caribbean International: 800-256-6649

"We will work with our fuel terminal operators and partners to ensure gas and other fuels move out of our port and to consumers as long as possible. Additionally, port staff will continue to work round-the-clock so we can re-open to full operations as soon as safely possible to support the community and region we serve."

In addition to these tips, I suggest having a trusted weather source that you can go to for up-to-date information. As always, safety is the paramount: No trip is worth your life!

Continuing to monitor Milton. This is a dangerous, powerful storm that will impact Florida with expected landfall tomorrow evening/Thursday morning. Remain weather aware if you are traveling to/from this area. Orlando, Tampa, St Pete, Sarasota Bradenton airports are closing today in advance of the storm.

New Watches/Warnings from the NHC here Tuesday 8am ET. Hurricane Warnings now extend coast to coast. Hurricane Watches/Tropical Storm Warnings are in the blue/pink hatch. Storm 'weaker' but still 145mph. Went through a normal eyewall replacement. This might allow a bounce back stronger. And makes storm wider/larger. www.spaghettimodels.com
