Make plans to bundle up and head downtown on Friday night for the annual lighting of the Rutherford County Christmas tree. Organized by Main Street Murfreesboro/Rutherford, Inc., this holiday event features entertainment, caroling, carriage rides, the lighting of the tree, and a visit from Santa. Have dinner downtown, view the live nativity, shop in unique stores, enjoy an hour-long program of choir music, dancing, acting, and Santa. Free activities for children, carriage rides, and free pictures with Santa inside the courthouse. Activities and entertainment continue outside until 8:30pm. It's a Christmas tradition for Murfreesboro and we hope you and your family will be a part of the festivities. Festivities begin at 5:30.
