As you know, Philippine citizen marriages occurring outside the US must have a Report of Marriage filed and approved for the marriage to be acknowledged in the Philippines.

The acceptance of such has been put on hold as seen in the attached letter.

We’ve had a decrease in Remote Philippine marriages since lifting of Covid immigration requirements, but we still perform a few.

I would suggest Philippine couples should be advised of this. It may be that, like mainland Chinese, the knowledge they underwent a marriage ceremony, whether recognized, is sufficient for them.

Starting on January 8, 2020, Social Security offices nationwide will be open to the public on Wednesday afternoons, Andrew Saul, Commissioner of Social Security, announced. This change restores Wednesday public service hours that were last in place in late 2012. “I don’t want someone to come to our office at 2:30 on a Wednesday only to find our doors closed,” Commissioner Saul said.
