Happy Thanksgiving! There are so many things I have to be grateful for and I wanted to be sure to say thank you to my clients! Hanging out with these gals for an evening was a blast!

Using an Adventure Session to photograph a bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner, or post wedding shoot is a great way to capture some really fun memories!

Another tradition of cutting the cake goes all the way back to Ancient Rome, but in modern times, the ceremony of cutting the cake has layers of symbolism! Beginning with how the couple works together, holding the knife together symbolizes how they will support one another and work through trials together as a team. And feeding one another a piece of cake is meant to show their commitment to one another through thick and thin with a sense of joy and gladness! ____________________________________________________________

One thing that is so special about a wedding is the traditions. Like the special dances, the cutting of the cake and the throwing of the bouquet. They all signify moving forward, a new beginning and a rite of passage. They also give us a chance to look back at where all these traditions began and why!

The first dance at a wedding comes from the times of Kings and Queens. During a ball, a first dance by the guest of honor would signify the official beginning of opening of the dance floor.

From where I sit the weather has been so cold!! At one point in the last couple weeks, it was -20! Looking at this pictures of a warm spring wedding makes me so excited for warmer weather! My favorite season is summer, I love that the days are so long and you can walk out the door without an additional 20 layers lol what is your favorite season?

One thing I always think about when the bride and bridesmaids are getting ready is how back in the day getting ready/putting on dresses required help every single day! I really find the history of fashion so interesting and also how it relates to climate, profession, and even politics!

I had such a wonderful time photographing Megan and Gabe’s wedding! It’s amazing to think I used to babysit her and her younger sister! And just look at those happy faces! Seriously such a fun bunch and I am so grateful to be able to help preserve and capture such smiles and magical moments!

I never imagined that I’d be an entrepreneur or a photographer. Not that I thought I could never do that, but it just never really crossed my mind, but God is so good and has such plans for us all even with all the plans we make.

Last year and rolling into this year, so many of us have begun a journey across chartered waters. I challenge you to focus on those things that seem to have broken your plans as positive opportunities. In may be difficult, but try finding the good in all things and live with a grateful heart and your worries will be lighter. Easier said than done, I know, but it’s a good place to start. ____________________________________________________________

Engagement sessions, both traditional and adventure sessions are probably my favorite because the best part of my job by far is meeting and hanging out with you!

The engagement session allows us a chance to hang out more one on one and allows me the opportunity to get to know you guys better and allows you the chance to get to know my photographic style and become more comfortable in front of the camera so on your wedding day you are cool as a cucumber :)
