In packing up after the show, we came up short a set of 10oz blue gloves. If someone accidentally ended up with them in their bag, we would appreciate the gloves finding their way home. Thanks in advance for your help!
Muskegon Boxing Club is set in the Smith Ryerson Park, located in the Jackson Hill Neighborhood.

In the midst of thanking everyone for their help, it seems I left a very important name off the list…. Pat Schmidt! Pat was all over the place with cards cut in half, boxing gloves and raffle tickets hanging around his neck. Pat certainly added to our bottom line yesterday!! Thanks Pat, your help made a big difference!!
This years Kenny Lane Classic has wrapped up! A day full of great fights! We want to thank everyone that helped us make this a great show. Last night wrapped up the "King Of The Jungle 5" National tournament. Johnathan Fuhrman showed out in his second career fight. While he had great defense, and gas, he didn't get the win. A lot of good lessons were learned! Kobe Lewis took to the ring in his FIRST competition and certainly dug deep to take home the Championship Belt! Keep you eyes out for these two - they're only getting better from here!
We also want to Acknowledge our coaches Eddie Tice and Bill Schaeffer who put the time and effort in to make sure our team is prepared for these challenges. Their dedication to the team is invaluable. Along with Bill and Eddie, the most recent addition to our team, Ken Agnew has really stepped up to help. We are lucky to have them!
After a few matchmaking glitches getting everything going, it was a great event! There were opportunities for many young fighters from across the country. With your continued support, we look forward to picking up a few more belts next year. Thanks to everyone that has helped our gym to where we are today!
And team - KEEP RUNNING!!
Great night at the King of the Jungle 5!! Jeremiah put on a great show, taking everything, including the kitchen sink, that his opponent threw at him. He didn't come away with the win, but was a winner non the less. We're all proud of you Jeremiah, you represented us well!
A special thank you to "Your Car Guy" Robert Housley for stepping in to be the announcer for our Kenny Lane Classic!! When we told him the gym needed some help with the show, he didn't ask what we needed, he just said "I'll do it!" Just like that.. SNAP - from Car Guy to Announcer Guy..
We want to thank John Obrien and the whole team of officials that helped us make our first show in Muskegon a success. Pamela Patterson, Jeff Behran, and Brian Lentz are always there to help! It was a great show, with a really good turn out. Thanks also has to go to the city of Muskegon Parks team making the venue work for us. Our community showed up and certainly made it all worthwhile! Once again, Thanks to all who helped us make this happen.
Mark your calendars for September next year, when we do it all again!!

2023 Golden Gloves has concluded! Muskegon Boxing Club had six entries in the tournament this year. Of those, four brought home State Champion Titles. Cody Leonard, Abel Mendoza, Van "Buddha" Davis, and Keishawn Partee! Fighting his way through the States 175lb Open Division, Keishawn took the Michigan State title. As State Champion, Keishawn advanced to the Golden Gloves National Tournament. After three back-to-back, hard fought, victories, Keshawn advanced to the final bout, where he was awarded the Silver Medal, by way of a split decision. Keishawn's Silver finish was a qualifying event for the Olympic Trials! Keishawn has come a long way on his life journey. Hard work, and dedication, are what makes Champions. Keishawn has both, and now sets the example for others to follow. We are all very proud of the young man he has become. Keishawn Partee is a name to watch for - Much more to come! Special recognition to Bill Shaefer and Eddie Tice, for the work and dedication that helped our team perform so good! This has been a tough year, and without them we would not be the team that we are.
Muskegon Boxing will be closed 5/8-5/12, while heading to the National Golden Gloves tournament in Philly. We will be open again 5/15, with a new National Champion!!

Next step is to take it to the National Golden Gloves tournament in Philadelphia this year. Keishawn Partee will take Muskegon to the Philly ring and bring the National title home, where it belongs!
