Video. In Michigan, the Mona Shores Singing Christmas Tree is 20 metres tall, with 25,000 LED lights, 1,580 linear metres of greenery and 15 levels on which 180 choir members stand. The 40-year-old tree can hold up to 220 singers.

**Announcement from Mona Shores Choir Association/Singing Christmas Tree**

After many discussions with the Frauenthal Center, students, and parents, the decision has been made to not reschedule Wednesday night's cancelled production.

This decision was not made lightly, and we looked at every possible option, but due to the prior commitments of students & volunteer staff, we are not able to add another show to the schedule.

For those who attended from near and far, thank you so much for supporting our students and production. We're honored that you chose the Singing Christmas Tree to be part of your holiday season and heartbroken that you couldn’t see this year's show in person. The show will be streamed live on Saturday night, December 7, at 7:00 pm on MuskegonChannel.com if you’d still like to watch the performance.

The Quarter Notes Quartet and our producer Tony Ross spent time with Shelley Irwin on WGVU this morning. Their segment will air Wednesday morning at 9:15 am and again Thursday at Noon. Make sure to tune in to The Shelley Irwin Show to listen!

Our volunteers got an early start this morning with some help from Hodgepodge Bake Shop for breakfast!

Saturday evening performance- Alumni joins the choir to sing the Mona Shores Alma Mater. ❤️

Coming this Spring…. POPS! Here’s a little more insight to what Pops is. Bad video but incredible talent! This is from 2020 Pops. This young man has since graduated and studying at the U of MI. “Rocket Man” by Matthew Yocoub

Solo by Lizzie Fritz. She had a outstanding solo performance! A past alumni commented on Lizzie’s performance! She said, “Lawtons still got it”, referring to choosing a wide variety of music. Keeping it fresh along side traditional songs. It can’t be easy choosing music every year. Music Director Shawn Lawton puts in countless hours choosing the best songs every year to reach everyone in our communities. After 30 years, Lawton does still got it! 2021 Senior Night, leading the Choir is 2021 Owen McCarthy & Tyler Ross. Owen came back this year to help with Tree build. And last night Owen led the choir again in their special songs! We miss Owen, but the choir is forever in him so we know he will always come back to visit! Thank you Owen!

The Show ends with Music director, Shawn Lawton inviting all Alumni in the audience to come up to the front of the tree and join in the two remaining songs. “The lord bless you and keep you” and “Mona Shores Alma Mater” by Larry Grey & The 1962 MSHS music Theory class.
