Said goodbye to my hero yesterday, my grandpa was the best man I ever knew. He and my grandma took me to see the world when I was younger and throughout college, barely a few days would go by without us hanging out or chatting on the phone. He was a true self made man, who proudly served his country and worked his way up at Eli Lilly. John Moore’s temper was legendary is his younger days, but the stories I would hear were are far cry from the man my cousins and I knew. Family was everything to him. He battled Parkinson’s for the last part of his life, and seeing the strong proud man I grew up with, slowly loose his independence, was hard. I’m grateful for all the good times and so happy he got to meet his great grandchildren before he left us. His passing has left a hole in our family, but I’m glad he left a lifetime of memories to fill it with.
