Crescent Brewery History Highlight!🍻✨

Did you know the Crescent Brewery, established in January 1907, has a unique origin story for its iconic beer? On January 15th of that year, the brewery's president and manager, Mr. Lockman, launched a competition to find the perfect name for their beer, offering a prize of fifty dollars. The contest was a resounding success, with entries flooding in from all over the U.S. and even Canada.

By February 3rd, the brewery had received hundreds of suggestions. The committee ultimately narrowed it down to three, with the winning name, "Overland," suggested by Fred G. Mock from Nampa, the brewery's hometown. Mock's offer to craft a compelling story linking the name to the historic Overland Trail was simply "too tempting to resist."

Today, the legacy of Overland Beer lives on in the Overland Room at Brick Office Events. Named in honor of Crescent Brewery's Overland Beer, this intimate space is perfect for smaller weddings or corporate events.

✨🧱 Nampa History Moment 🧱✨

Did you know that the brick office resides in a building that was originally established as The Crescent Brewery in 1907?

The Crescent Brewery was built following a request to the Nampa Chamber of Commerce, asking how they could help establish a new brewery. In response, the Chamber provided a suitable site, securing the brewery's location in Nampa just across the railroad tracks.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lockman arrived in Nampa shortly after, and construction for the brewery, bottling plant, and Lincoln House began with contractor Charles P. Stanley and a crew of 75 in early 1906. One million bricks were specially ordered and laid, making the project so large that the Nampa Leader-Herald termed it "mammoth." The brickwork for what was considered “the best constructed building in Idaho” was completed in September 1906, but operations did not begin until January 1907.

While the brewery itself was demolished in 1966, the bottling house, where The Brick Office is now located, and the Lincoln House still stand to this day.
