I have all of these flower varieties and they are hardy as hell. They keep multiplying over time and they are drought tolerant once established.

But the best gift of all, the hummingbirds and pollinators are unreal!

These are an easy perennial to get going in your garden if you’re new to throwing flowers in the ground.

Easy low maintenance fun textured sun loving shrubs for the win!

Sumac is lovely for its fern like chartreuse green foliage, gets about 6 ft tall and is compact, it has a rounded habit, velvety branches and its fall colored foliage is heavenly!

Ninebarks have an array of colors spreading 3-10 feel depending on variety. Attract pollinators with its cute little bloom in spring. My favorite is the bark as it exfoliates or peels away in layers. Great texture in garden particularly in the winter!

Butterfly Bush continuously blooms, has and array of colors and is fragrant! Dwarf variety available or can grow between 3 to 12 feet tall. I have heard these called a trash bush and I highly disagree. Butterfly Bush for the win and pollinators love me for it!

Caryopteris pairs well in mixed perennial gardens. Echinacea, black eyed Susan and ornamental grasses complement this gal well. Clusters of blue flowers bloom late summer to early fall. Only gets 2 to 3 feet tall and wide.

Black Lace Elderberry can spread 6-8 feet tall and wide. The foliage is phenomenal for its deep almost black color. Probably my favorite shrub in the perennial garden bed!

Another rough season with photographers but we made it! Some have no boundaries and some are extremely entitled.

But a huge thank you to the respectful ones, the ones that continue to keep us going, the ones that have supported our little farm and the ones that send referrals. You don’t go unnoticed and we love you for that!

What an adorable family to wrap this 2024 season up! Photos taken by my friend who’s such a talented young lady!

Inadequate, fear of failure. 1000s of dollars spent just to get my name out there along with so much free junk given away. Then, the pressure of social media- unreal. These are my 2020 feelings I experienced opening a business in the middle of a pandemic.

Fast forward 5 years later if there’s no failures you’re not growing. I need failures to better myself! Don’t sell yourself short stay firm take pride in your business and pricing. Set boundaries, it’s your business. Unfollow those folks in your same field. That’s your space and no one should dictate your feelings in your space you’ve created!

For me the number one thing I have learned is be yourself! And my biggest compliment is word of mouth!

So Thank You thank you Thank you for all of you that have supported us our family the last 5 years🧡

BTW my daughter and husband are killin it running and maintaining it while I am at work!

Spring pruning is essential for keeping roses healthy, vigorous, and blooming abundantly throughout the season

No, I am really not a huge fan of roses, but I do have a handful of some garden varieties. I need them in my life for the smell!

Roses like cooler weather and give us our first big show of color shortly after spring hits us.

My favorite variety of roses that line our walkway with continuous blooms is the Knock Out variety. She requires very little maintenance and is extremely forgiving which is another life requirement.

Have some space in your garden beds you would like to fill up?

Just by planting a couple of these varieties of plants, I can promise they will be the gift that keeps on giving! These are just a few of our favorites that have literally taken over.

Remember to only cut them back in the spring of the following year so all those flower head seeds will reseed. Not only that, but it’s wonderful to go through fall/winter for our feathered friends to enjoy the seeds and the habitat you’re providing for them.

Comment “cottage” to get our E-book on creating your own cottage garden! It’s filled with all our favorites! Plus descriptive diagrams so you know exactly where to place everything 🙌

Just another of many seed starting mistakes I have made..

Don’t forget to check that label or do a little research, as some seeds require a period of cold stratification in order to germinate. Meaning they need to experience going through some cold winter months to germinate. When seeding we need to mimic what would happen in nature. So throw them in a cold place. For me that is putting them in a container in the freezer. Although, I have left them outside in my barn out of reach of critters and they’ve germinated! Whatever works best for you, just don’t forget this important step! We promise your germination rates will be much higher 🙌

Now while I don’t particularly enjoy seeding inside but love outdoor seeding.. We have created an E-book on seeding outdoors and all the tips you will need to have success! Comment grow to get our E-book so you can experience the joy of watching your seeds come to life 🌱

Don’t ever think you have to fork out thousands and thousands of dollars hiring a landscaper to help you get the yard you dream of. We have an even better solution! Opting not to hire a designer or landscaper means you’re responsible for crafting your space exactly how YOU want it. You get full control over your design, plant choices, and style.

I promise once you put the time into creating your own space, you will tend to it better, as you know all the hard work that went into it. You will feel a sense of gratification! You will have a sense of accomplishment and take great pride in your outdoor space. You can then take these talents into any space, whether it’s because you move or to help someone else create their space.

I can’t tell you how many people I have worked with and have watched the joy, confidence, and freedom the process brought them by creating their own spaces. This could be you!

Comment cottage to grab our E-book that will give you the knowledge you need to achieve this too 🌻
