When a troubled but gifted 17 year old boy from the South Bronx arrives at a private school in New Hampshire, two faculty members wrestle with how to help him adjust to his new environment. The boy is violent, brilliant, alienated, and on fire with ferocious loneliness. As with his Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Doubt, John Patrick Shanley has drawn on his personal experiences to create an explosive portrait of a young man on the verge of either salvation or destruction.

Set in the 1930s, Lend Me a Tenor is a madcap screwball comedy that takes place when Tito Merelli, the fiery-tempered and world-famous Italian superstar, arrives in Cleveland, Ohio to make his debut with the local opera and promptly goes missing. As Saunders, the show's presenter, conspires to cover for Tito’s absence, placate his hot-blooded wife, and distract his most passionate fans, chaos on a truly operatic level ensues. Written by prolific playwright Ken Ludwig, the original production of Lend Me a Tenor was a huge sensation on Broadway and nominated for nine Tony Awards.

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll be replacing it with The Roommate, an exciting comedy-drama by Jen Silverman, starring Lynn Young and Pam Summers.

In Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, an all-female fan club called the Disciples of James Dean meets at a Woolworths five and dime in McCarthy, Texas. The group reunites in 1975 to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Dean's death. (In 1955, the actor was filming Giant in Marfa, not far from where the store stands.) As a odd assortment of women arrive, they begin revealing hidden secrets, with flashes back, showing the women as young James Dean fans, and then jumps forward to present day to reveal the ravages of time and lost innocence.

The Studio Players cultivates a highly creative, inclusive, and collaborative environment in which professional artists and artists in training are encouraged to broaden their craft while engaging, entertaining, and challenging our diverse community with theatrical productions that range from alternative and contemporary to more established works. The Studio Players, Inc. is a 501 ( c ) (3) non-profit organization. TSP operates on an extremely tight budget with a very small group of volunteers that has hosted over 29 full-length shows with over 300 productions in the past 7 years. These productions have brought in approximately 20,000 people into downtown Golden Gate area, that normally would not have been there, and our presence has generated financial growth for many other businesses in the area as well. But we can’t continue to do this without your support. Box office revenues cover only a portion of our operating budget. Donations and Sponsors will allow us to bridge the gap between ticket sales and operating expenses. Without individual donor support, we could not keep the curtain up!
