Not every young person gets a smooth road in life. For many, the journey is full of detours that take them off course before they’ve even had a chance to drive. This month is Youth Justice Action Month ( ) - a national effort to raise awareness about the unique challenges young people face in the justice system and to advocate for responses that are fair, effective, and developmentally appropriate.
Think about your own life, those days when traffic throws off your whole schedule. You might speed up, cut a corner, or miss a turn just to get where you need to go. And when we do that, we give ourselves grace. That same grace is what our young people need, hence diversion programs.
At Pathways Kitchen, we help youth find their way back to purpose by offering second chances, support and a living wage. This month, we invite you to take action by joining us at our upcoming Fall Harvest Dinner — a celebration of the progress our youth have made and the new paths they are paving for their futures.
Come see what’s possible when we trust the delay, honor the detour, and invest in the journey: https://www.pathwayskitchen.org/events/harvestdinner
