It has been a wild ride working full-time jobs, and running a small business as wives and mothers. Life can feel both rewarding and chaotic simultaneously. We can be both grateful and down right drained simultaneously.
On top of wearing all the hats, we are a proud Autism mom and MiMi! Proud advocates for acceptance and inclusion of those with autism. A little over one year into the journey and I have learned more in the last 15 months than I have in my lifetime. In the same vain, I have also realized that grief and sadness can live in the same space as pure joy and happiness simultaneously. Fierce advocacy and anxiety and fear can live in the same space simultaneously. It’s a marathon not a sprint. It requires patience, understanding, learning and unlearning and most of all kindness, acceptance, and a willingness to learn by others.
My son has been going to a therapy-based school for children with autism for 15 months, where he receives ABA, feeding, speech and occupational therapy all under one roof! It has been nothing but a blessing for Kruz and our family.
The school had their first picture day for the kiddos and we were so extremely honored to donate balloons!! Kruz lives around balloons, so he was most definitely in his element!
Be kind. Choose to include.
