1 of 3 catch-up events is this years 5th Annual Cooking for a Cause where the local community of healthcare workers and organizations came together for a 2 day event to cook for and honor our hard working healthcare front line staff. This year we recognized and by donating 350+ meals to share our appreciation for their hard work and service to community. Thank you all of our volunteers and donors without you this annual event would not be possible! (

Happy holidays to all of our friends and family! We have some catch-up posts to make before the New Year (cooking for a cause, cattle auction, and wedding cooks).

I wanted to start the series of post by first sharing appreciation to the 3 women in our lives (our wives and Roxanne) who all put up with the long hours and constant smell of meat/smoke. This post is commemorated to you! Thank you and .m.quinn28 and of course Roxanne for who we are ever grateful!

Last night we did a bit of practice for the annual cow auction cook - this beautifully crusted piece of beef is an eye of round seasoned with SPG, BBQ rub dusting, and Morton’s steak seasoning.

This made one one GREAT 🥩 🥪

Process: Cooked on 275 until it reached 112 degrees internal and then rested for 15 minutes before searing 3 minutes per side. Following the sear internal temp registered 128 (medium rare) and then rested for 20 minutes before slicing thin and topping with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and provolone.

This spread included pulled pork, smoked pulled chicken, green beans, baked beans, cole slaw, and mini corn muffins - yum 😋!

New Year, New Hickory Hogs! We figured it was about time we posted our "new" logo we had designed back in 2021. We could not be more excited for 2024 and would also like to announce the official launch of Hickory Hogs BBQ LLC!! We are excited for a year full of firsts in our BBQ endeavors and are so thankful for such great family and friends to be by our side along the way. #2024

Just a fun post for those taco Tuesday lovers! These are some sheet pan nachos my wife and her friend made this weekend! What a beautiful vibrant and fun dish! Also they tasted it as good as they look! Heard multiple people comment best nachos I have ever had! Shout out to and - thanks for making it a fiesta kinda night!

What an amazing untraditional and early Christmas celebratory meal I had with my BBQ buddies this past this weekend! This is only a portion of what was a full night of cooking, cocktails, stories, and laughter! That is what BBQ is about… just happens to taste good too! Johnny Kommavongsa and Doug Wright - enjoyed “The Feast!” - Happy early holidays all!
