🌱 Celebrating Tennessee Agriculture Literacy Week! 🌾

From November 17-23, 2024, we’re celebrating the essential connection between agriculture and education during Tennessee Agriculture Literacy Week! 🐄🌽

With less than 2% of our population directly involved in production agriculture, many students lack firsthand knowledge of where their food, fiber, and fuel come from. That’s where this week comes in! It's a fantastic opportunity for farmers, ranchers, 4-H, and FFA students to share their knowledge and experiences about the farming world by reading agriculturally themed books and engaging with students across the state. 📚🚜

Together, we can provide students with the understanding of how food is raised and harvested and why agriculture matters. 🌍💚

🍭 Happy National Candy Day! 🍬 Did you know that candy apples were first introduced at the fair in the 1900s? They were created by a candy maker who wanted to make a sweet treat that could be easily sold at events. The first ones were bright red, thanks to the use of red cinnamon candy! 🍎✨ What's your favorite candy?
