WREATHS!
This year is just different and I am CRAVING the stillness that this season can bring. But with one more event this weekend, a holiday party Saturday night and our KO team gathering next week, I’m not QUITE there. But my new Christmas tree is up, shopping is done and all (4 sets!) of our matching family pj’s are in the queue…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I haven’t made A.SINGLE.WREATH.
I freaking love making wreaths!….
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I’m going to design 5: fully decked out with my handwoven bases, velvet ribbons and large jingle bells and full of textured greenery. If you’d like one, let me know asap!

Anyone else almost done with Christmas shopping? Just me?
Aside from baby things, my favorite gifts to find are those for my team. I love searching for things I think they will love and I’m really excited about our gathering and service activity this year!

I’m a different person than I was this time last year. Instead of “wife, artist, business owner, etc.”, “mother” is now a part of my description and it still blows my mind every time it dawns on me. Six months has flown by.

What a fun surprise last weekend’s snow has been! And I’m not mad to be surrounded by snow this week with family in the WV mountains… But I’m ready for spring!

Last week was full of spring weather and spring flowers and I’m not mad about it. BUT. We are headed to the mountains for a ski trip soon so I’m gonna need winter to hang around just a TEENSY bit longer!

Saturday was the third wedding date for Megan and Michael. After rescheduling their beach wedding and then cancelling those plans altogether, they opted for a closer option for their friends and family. We worked with tropical plants and blooms as a nod to their original design plans and the end result was bold, unique and so much fun!

That gorgeous bouquet in the top left corner? I designed that for a sweet March 2020 bride whose wedding was battered with the onslaught of the pandemic. Her venue cancelled, her vendors and guests were unsure how to proceed, some of her flowers stuck in transit…But with incredible grace, she and her fiancée made plans to elope on a neighbor’s front porch and have their sweet March wedding. , and I worked safely and tirelessly to make this sweet day as perfect as we could! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I would be honored if you would vote for this beauty in the “wedding work” category of the Garden Rose competition happening NOW!

May has been a whirlwind, but such a treat filled with precious brides, beautiful designs and talented vendor teams!

Welcome to my candle Op-Ed....⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Selecting the items to accompany your flowers and complete your centerpiece should not be left up to chance. Or whatever your friend used for their wedding. Or tiny clear votives picked up Hobby Lobby. This is YOUR WEDDING; you’ve dreamed and schemed and dropped loads of money and the details matter! Don’t throw clear tea lights at your table. Don’t use old, melted-a-thousand-times pillar candles caked in a dirty cylinder. Trust us: we designed a LOT of weddings, with all sorts of color palettes, and the end results are show stopping. Your color palette was carefully chosen. Your flowers were thoughtfully curated. Your candles and final details deserve the same consideration!

Oh hi, it’s me! It’s Friday and I’m in the studio creating bouquets and bouts for tomorrow’s wedding but wanted to introduce myself to some new followers! I don’t show my face here too often, but that’s me, casually tweaking the nearly 16 ft tall floral arch of my dreams! 😉

I love when a wedding is totally different than something we’ve seen before. I will, shamelessly, try to encourage you to use color in your wedding. I will tell you that candles are important and prove it to you.

Personally, passport stamps make my heart happy in a way I can’t describe and I’m dreaming of ALL the travel. I love the color green, leggings, winter, Thin Mints and Corgis and I’m currently binging (and INVESTED in!) Cobra Kai on Netflix. Tornadoes scare the **** out of me and I’m a bit amped up today after last night’s storms. Anyone else?

Unpopular opinion time:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t like pampas grass. It’s messy, too trendy and it gets on EVERYTHING. It’s also looks like swords in most designs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
HOWEVER, I bit my tongue when these gorgeous stems arrived from New Mexico and my team and I created this beautiful, boho aisle for one of our late fall brides. With a lush growing installation on a custom built stage, vintage rugs and hand blown glass bottles, this ceremony setup lands in our top 5 favorites of 2021....a place I swore pampas grass would never land. So congratulations pampas grass, you won me over, this time!

Let’s hear it for appropriately proportioned bridal bouquets!!! 🙌🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pro tip: Bigger is not always better! 😉 This bouquet is FULL of ranunculus and garden roses: popular, beloved, not inexpensive blooms. With less than 7 stems of greenery, this bouquet features focal, show stopping blooms, minimal/no filler and allows your dress (on which you’ve spent THOUSANDS of dollars) to not be overshadowed or for your frame to be dwarfed. A bouquet 6x the size of your head looks a ta**ry. Choosing quality and timelessness over quantity and bulk is always a win.
