There is nothing better than yummy, delicious food. Well these beauties have been serving just that for over 40 years. Meet Frances Pilkington and Ashley Pilkington Ownby, owners of “Something Special” located in Nashville, Tn. Ashley says , “I remember being in 5th grade helping out my mother.” Frances started catering in 1977 and was asked by Nashville’s historical Cheekwood to develop the now well known Pineapple Room. She also helped create the food for Vanderbilt’s Stadium Club back in the day. Clearly the southern rumor wheel turned and they found themselves needing to provide food for everyone. “Providing the best quality foods to go is what we do,” says Ownby. Whether it’s a large catering event or a small party, these girls have you covered. My favorite story is what they call the “desperate housewives” where they will bring in their own pots and pans only to be filled with Something Specials’ food. This way it looks like they cooked this amazing meal themselves at home. I can personally testify that the food is beyond good. I could literally bathe in their “famous horseradish sauce” that goes with pretty much everything! Hats off to Frances who is 91 and her daughter Ashley and family.
